damesta
Hey guys, I need a solenoid from the a340e transmission from a 92-2000 sc400. I looked into getting a new one but its very expensive. Does anyone have a blown tranny or anything like that laying around that you could pull a solenoid off of for me. I will of course pay you for your troubles. Post or email me at damesta@earthlink.net if you can help.

damesta
Still no luck, I can't find any junkyards that will take the solenoids out either, they just want to sell the whole tranny. Anybody have any ideas for a good used solenoid source?

TexasComputerMan
Have you tried any salvage yards yet? I have bought a nunber of used parts from http://www.brickyardimportedcars.com/ . one, a driver's side door hinge came to me damaged. When I called them about it, they immediately sent me a new one. No questions asked!. The prices are good and they are just super to work with. I have bought one door hinge (they sent two, the second one at NO cost to me), one Heater Valve assembly, one Nakamichi Amp & one high prerssure power steering hose. I really appreciate these people. :D :P

VGR
The 340 series automatic transmission is also used on Toyota trucks and according to the post below the solenoids can be purchased at bulkparts.com for about $50 each http://t4x4pickup.com/dgroup/messages/10909.html

VGR
I have a '90-'94 LS400 Factory Parts Catalog. The LS400 uses the same 340E transmission as the early 1990's SC400. The catalog lists two solenoids: Toyota part# 35270-50010 SOLENOID ASSY, SHIFT CONTROL List Price $153.79 $110.73 at https://www.1stToyotaparts.com/part_number.html Toyota part# 35280-50010 SOLENOID ASSY, LOCK-UP CONTROL List Price $243.76 $175.51 at https://www.1stToyotaparts.com/part_number.html Since your transmission isn't have lockup problems, it sounds like you just need the $110.73 Shift Control Solenoid Assembly.
