kgh31386 Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 if i wanted Xenons on my 93 GS, should i buy some really nice xenon lookin bulbs, or get a full kit which would cost a lot more. and if i just got the bulbs, would they do the HID warmup. like change from really blue to more whitish blue as they warmed up a few seconds. plus my right fog light is out, how easy is it to replace that light?
GuyTelefunken Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 Xenon and HID are two different things. The HIDs do that funky, cool, impress-your-friends warmup.
kgh31386 Posted March 23, 2005 Author Posted March 23, 2005 Should I just buy really nice cool lookin bulbs, or spend a whole bunch on an HID kit. If i wanted just the bulbs, can you point me to a certain type. and if i want the kit, what all do i need to buy, can you recommend a nice kit for me. thanks
TurboGS300 Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 I'd buy and I bought the HID kit. Anything else is just a waste of money. I'd recommend Phillips, katz, the new Mcculloch's are supposed to be good. <_< Mcculloch 4100k
kgh31386 Posted March 23, 2005 Author Posted March 23, 2005 I dont have any idea what im doing, whatever i buy im gonna have my friend put it in because he works with cars. but whats up with people just putting headlights from other cars in theirs, for example dropping RX330 headlights and the parts that go with it into their old car? help point me in the right direction, which ones better. just gettin really nice new bulbs or an actual HID kit. some people say the nice bulbs look almost identical to the real HID.
TurboGS300 Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 some people say the nice bulbs look almost identical to the real HID. ← NO WAY!!! <_<
gotdubz Posted March 23, 2005 Posted March 23, 2005 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...sspagename=WDVW No comparison, i havnt got my kit yet either but im diffinitly going HID KIT
SKperformance Posted March 24, 2005 Posted March 24, 2005 when i posted the link to the site i would have thought you would have taken the time to educate yourself on a very complicated process they have to work. By your own admissino you know nothing about them. So go to that site and spend a few hours reading to make an informed decision.
kgh31386 Posted March 28, 2005 Author Posted March 28, 2005 Hey Turbo can you take some pics of ur HIDs at night so i can see what it looks like, maybe even a video of them warmin up?
kgh31386 Posted March 28, 2005 Author Posted March 28, 2005 Or does anyone have any pics or videos of their HIDS?
SKperformance Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 do you not understand the when i told you twice to go to the site stop being hard headed and go their it has pics faq's link to purchase what not to buy and every other answer
GuyTelefunken Posted March 28, 2005 Posted March 28, 2005 Hey SK, don't beat the poor kid up. He has so many people to impress. You gotta' look cool these days! I suppose it's not "cool" enough to just drive a Lexus any more. You know the fake (ie. aftermarket) HIDs that are illegal in most states and tend to blind oncomming traffic are super-cool! I'm suprised you didn't know that SK. Jeeze, you been living under a rock or something? :o
kgh31386 Posted March 28, 2005 Author Posted March 28, 2005 Hey hey hey stop whinin like a bunch of girls. I know they have pics and stuff, but not of an old GS. That's all i was askin for, sorrrrry.
kgh31386 Posted March 29, 2005 Author Posted March 29, 2005 You know those PIAA or whatever super white bulbs that i can just plug in, do those work pretty well. Because I was thinking of putting those into my fogs and low beams instead of paying 200+ for an HID kit. Does that sound reasonable? Also my right fog light lense is cracked and i have a lil bit of fog in the right headlight. How can I fix those lil problems?
TurboGS300 Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 silverstars or PIAA should be fine as long as they're not over 65 watts. You can buy a used headlamp or seal it up with silicone.
kgh31386 Posted March 29, 2005 Author Posted March 29, 2005 Are they really bright, like enough to where i wouldnt really need to use high beams in some cases on a dark road?
TurboGS300 Posted March 29, 2005 Posted March 29, 2005 As long as you stay at around 4100k to 5400k, they're no comparison to HID's, however, brighter and whiter than stock. <_<
kgh31386 Posted March 29, 2005 Author Posted March 29, 2005 O ok, if I do get an HID kit it wont be until the summer. Plus I don't have the money to do both subs and hids. so i'd have to decide which one is better. and how much does a new cover to my right foglight cost?
