Driver's Door Won't Open

Hi-

I need your help.

My driver's door won't open. It unlocks and I can open it from the inside. Also when I try to make the window go down it makes a funny noise, rattling, about half way down.

Any responses will be greatly appreciated,

The clip that holds the door handle release linkage has broken. The ratlle noise is the window crushing the linkage rod that connects to the latch.

You should be able to do it yourself, but I can't tell you where to find the clip. Once you remove the door panel you should see the rod dangling loose and all you'll have to do is snap on the new cllip and snap it in a hole in the outside handle.

Be careful not to break the rod w/ the power windows. I broke the rod and had to replace the entire door latch which is a lot more work (not to mention money) then just replacing the clip.

Same thing happened to my passenger side. I can't find a clip but I've heard that an electical twist connector will work if you can find the right size. I'm going to be doing the passenger door one of these weekends.
