i understand that there are serviceable and non-serviceable struts/shocks (non-sealed and sealed, respectively). Iam searching for relpacement shocks for both front and rear, and i need to know whether i get sealed or non-sealed for a 92 es 300. I have searched and checked the faq but i need a more definitive answer than "I think..." ANy help would be great thnx.

I bought them for a few ES300's as non serviceable, meaning you get the whole strut assembly. The OEM's are only about $75 a piece so even if you could get

cartridge inserts, it's probably not worth it.

The i think is because you won;t know if they were changed before tp non serviceable which means if you buy cartridges it will be of no use .

Just buy the complete strut assembly and be done with it, never mind cartridges do rust into one peice over time.
