lexusmonkey Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 hey guys i am new to the forum and i was wondering what is a good cold air intake for a 1996 es300. thanks for the help in advance
lexusmonkey Posted February 7, 2005 Author Posted February 7, 2005 ok i just read it but i am wondering is there any cold air intake i can buy and not have custom made that will do a decent job??
1995_ES300 Posted February 7, 2005 Posted February 7, 2005 Injen is your best bet. Insalled one on my Gf's Tiburon. AEM has a tendancy to rust internally for some reason which is very odd.
kyle0k Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 well even though SK will contest,i have a weapin R intake and im EXTREMELY pleased The sound is amazing.
SKperformance Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 lol you got me pinned kyle. :) do it the easy and cheap way remove the water ballast under the air filter chamber and use a K&N drop in.
SKperformance Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 btw 1995 aluminum doesn't rust and that is what the AEM is made of. So putting 2+2 together does not equal 4 with that statment
1995_ES300 Posted February 8, 2005 Posted February 8, 2005 unless it was some knock off that the guy bought, I have no idea. I didnt believe him either untill I saw the inner surface. It was either that or maybe the intake was sucking up some rust from somewhere?
SKperformance Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 might be sucking up something or it w3as excess oil from a badly oild filter?
1995_ES300 Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 might be sucking up somethingor it w3as excess oil from a badly oild filter? ← not too sure, it was just odd. The only thing that i could of since it may have not been rust (if in fact it was a true AEM) is, yes, a filter that was excessivly oiled. the oil then dried in the wall of the tube and started to flake off?
lexusmonkey Posted February 9, 2005 Author Posted February 9, 2005 ok i ordered that intake and i was wondering if ,once i get it installed, have to use a different kind of gas or anything
lexusmonkey Posted February 9, 2005 Author Posted February 9, 2005 I found a cold air ,AEM, intake that fits 96 camry and people said it would fit my car
SKperformance Posted February 9, 2005 Posted February 9, 2005 if it fits a 96 camry it will fit your 96 ES and yes you HAVE to use premium gas
