2002-2005 Es Gauge Needles

i was wondering if anyone knew how the needles on the 2002+ es gauge clusters worked. Are they led's or cold cathode tubes?

I know on the rx300's the appear the same but are white unlike the es which are red.

They're LED, the only Lexus that uses cold cathode is the LS.

The only difference is they're red instead of white.

what does the rx300 use for needle illumination then?

Same thing. LEDs can be any color.
