Steering Wheel Leather Restoration

Anyone know of an easy way to restore the leather steering wheel. The moisture (sweat) from driving has deteriorated the leather and I'd rather NOT pay to buy a new one? Help!?! :chairshot:

To my knowledge there is no cheap way to bring it back to new. Your options are to take off the wheel and send to American Stitches to have it redone (they can also add wood to the wheel if you like), go to a junk yard or ebay and take one from an ES300 as a replacement, or find an upholstery place that can do it for you. Do a search on steering wheel or American Stitches, and it will provide you info on how to remove the steering wheel. A few members have sent their steering wheel to American Stitches and have had good results with them. Except for another member named Blake who had his wheel done by them and a year later it started to peel. Not trying to scare from using them, but just providing the facts. Blake started a post about that a few days ago, you should be able to find his post on it by using the search engine and entering the key words from above.

To stop the wear on your steering wheel, you can use leather care products like Lexol for example. It can help in trying to slow the wear process of your steering wheel. Hopefully this helps you out.
