Thienn Posted November 18, 2004 Share Posted November 18, 2004 Any Gear Oil would be fined; as long as you get it change regularly! Just make sure you get the right grade. My 1996 SC400 takes 1.43 US quart of Hypoid Gear Oil, API GL-5, SAE 80W or 80W-90 (because I live in the Northeast and the temperature gets below Zero in the winter). I just replaced mine and I bought Valvoline Synthetic for about $5 a quart! You could get Amsoil or Redline online also but I think any good brand gear oil should be OK.
