AWJ
Check connections, positive and negative main cables for corrosion, chassis ground, alternator connections and alternator grounds. It won't hurt to have your alternator tested.
SKperformance
exactly get that all checked the light doens't mean there is a problem with the battery it means a problem with the charging system
sc394
I had a leak under my distributer and it was dripping oil on the alternator. Battery light came on from time to time untill my alternator completely died. Get it checked out because its expensive.

AWJ
If it is a sc400 - power steering will do that. SC300 water pump may be the cause.
