It is SOO annoying to have to press the button that states that you understand not to use the navigational system while driving, etc. Thanks. You can probably simulate an open DVD door remotely using one of the newly available remotely controlled relays, say from Hella. I don't use the one in my 01 RX300 very much, found it so unreliable as to be virtually useless, so I just leave the DVD door open most of the time.
