Had my ES350 for less than 6 months. Twice the dashboard lit up with failure lights, this was due to metal in the oil. Flush and gush the first time. Removed the engine and replaced cam gears and chain on the 3.5l engine. the second time it went in. I was so surprised to see a Toyota product have such a failure. Wasn't going to wait for the other shoe to drop so I traded it in on a Honda. Toyota, never again will I buy. Shameful.

Sorry, but either you have a one in half a million unreliable Toyota or there's something you're not telling us.

Toyota/Lexus has always ranked at or right next to the top of Consumer Reports Magazine's list of auto manufacturers that make the most to least reliable vehicles.

Our Lexus is almost 19.5 years old and has never had a reliability issue.

Moderators you say.聽 Well, I'm just the new guy on this format, so just call me a liar, right. There is no reason for me to lie, and shame on you all for implying such a thing. I'm a retired quality control Inspector/Engineer from flight test Edwards AFB, NASA and JPL to name a few. This was a 2024 ES350 Ultra Deluxe, Silver Lexus with a 3.5-liter, fuel injected engine purchased at Lexus of Melbourne, Florida. The two times that these incidents happened the car was at the dealership being washed. 1st time was two months after our purchase, second time was at the 4th month. I never said that Toyota doesn't make a good product, I have a Tundra sitting in my driveway. What I am saying is that Corporate had to come up with the fix, because the dealership had no idea what caused it. The cam gears and timing chains were changed out because the clutch in the cam gears failed and this caused the metal shred and fill up the filter that is located in this chain valley.聽 Every single light on the dash lighted up when this happened and only corporate knew what to do about it.聽 聽

Your original post came off like a complaint to just complain. No need as we understand frustrations, and most can be ironed out. So, Welcome Aboard ! Nobody called you a liar...
