denvergs300
:o Newbie: I'm doing a oil change this weekend on my 1993 GS300. I just bought my GS over the weekend and this is my first Lexus. Previously owned a Infiniti G20. This one did not come with a owners manual. Anyone know the drain and refill capacity? Anyone had any good experiences with Mobil 1 Synthetic 5W-30 on these cars? Thx.
VGR
Approx 4 quarts. Go by what the dipstick says, not by fluid capacity figures. Some folks here have experienced oil leaks after using Mobil 1 in older Lexus's.

bartkat
I'd stick with regular oil. I like Castrol. Been using it in cars and bikes for 30 years now. You might be able to fine an owners manual on Ebay.
TurboGS300
I use mobil 1 exclusively on all my cars and bikes. I have heard of leaks when switching to synthetic initially, usually they stop after a few oil changes.
ColinBarber
Lexus dealers in the UK only seem to use synthetic oil but then our drain interval is longer, every 10,000 miles.
Thienn
Go to Lexus.com and register your car! They will send an Owner Manual free of charge; it is a handy things to have.
