Abe Scott
I have installed a new timing belt on my Lexus LS 400. installed the tensioner and removed the pin. Now, it appears that I have slack in the timing belt. From the crank to the left camshaft was tite, and from the left camshaft to the right camshaft was tite. From the rt. camshaft to the crank was a little slack. and I pulled the pin from the tensioner. Now, I think that reusing the tensioner was not the right thing to do. Thoughts, please
Dean2
New belt you ahould be doing new tensioner and a new water pump. Very small cost once you already have everything opened up. I always buy mine as an all inclusive kit. You can get OEM from Rock Auto for a very good price.

Dean2
Well guess you now know better. Hopefully it is still apart so it is easy to swap out the tensioner. All the best.
