AWJ Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 how logn does it take for leaking power steering pump to destroy the alternator? ← Probably not very long friend. I can't say for sure though. Best to get it fixed asap.
bezee Posted October 30, 2004 Posted October 30, 2004 I am speaking from experience and it does not take long at all. I was stupid and broke so i had to drive for 3 months with a bad p/s pump and the alternator was acting funny for the whole time. Change it ASAP!!!
Maximaboy1 Posted October 30, 2004 Author Posted October 30, 2004 Thing is, My pump is bad-I'm not sure if it's leaking. (Fluid at this point is holding steady...) The pump just makes this moaning/groaning noise oftentimes.) I am just concerned that hypothetically, if the pump is leaking, how long would it take before I know that it's leaking and the alternator has been affected? (I know a few of you already answered the question..just wanted to clarify that it most likely isn't leaking now..
