Factory shocks lifespan

Hi all, I am a recent proud owner of a 01 gs430 and I need to do brakes, I was wondering if I should replace the shocks with something quality aftermarket while I’m at it, or if the factory shocks will go much longer.  When have you had to replace yours?  Thanks

You will find that there is no strut assembly for sale for these, You have to rebuild the strut assy. with new shocks, I used Monroe shocks when I had to do this. I would do as much cross over work while the strut is ouT.
