New Leather Gear Shift Cover?

Recommended Posts

Hey there - I'm new to the forums, so I'm hoping I'm not posting incorrectly....

but here's my problem. The leather cover on my old 93 ls400 just disintegrated... is there any way to either get and install a new one, or buy an aftermarket one? I suppose I could try and find a used gearshift, but that seems excessive for just a piece of leather.

I don't want to just leave it either, since it's both ugly and feels terrible in my hand.

help?

Donovan.

Everyone usually answer:

www.americanstitches.com.

A bit too pricey for me -- but it is an option. Don't rule out getting a used one. Also, check www.ebay.com as well to see if there are any or if there are any salvaged vehicles out there you can get one from.

best to you

the quote I got was 165

I called a local dealer, and they wanted over 300 canadian for a new shifter.

Whee...

I guess I'll have to hit the scrapyards. At least I know it's available if I get desperate though.

thanks y'all
