LEXDOGG
My car starte to overheat toay. I had steam comming from the passager side. I looked but I cant see a hose that would be leaking. Is there a hose somewhere behind the motor? I am sure hoping that the head isnt cracked :( :( :(
99lsguy
Lexxdogg, Check the underside of your oil cap when you take it off.........if its got a brownish, milkish white film on it- you have a broken head gasket. Otherwise, check you plastic reservoir for leaks/cracks as these have been common.
92Lex
To check for a broken head gasket you could also do this, let the car cool completely down (in the morning for example) then open the water inlet bolt and start the car...look for bubbles coming up indicating a broken head gasket..if you dont see any then take a step further and elevate the rpm to 3000 rpms and continue looking through the inlet for bubbles...these bubbles if any will indicate a broken head gasket and will look something like if you took a straw and blew threw it into a cup of water.
