AlmightyLexus97 Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 wassup guys i took my car down to the Toyota service department today to see if the valves needed adjusting but the guy drove it and said it was just the injectors clicking...what's your take on this?
SRK Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 About the noisiest things on a running 1UZ-FE are the injectors. Put a mechanics stethoscope on one of them and you will probably find that the rate and distinct noise you hear are the injectors. I think the Toyota guy is probably correct.
silvermate Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 so the typical ticking some hear from underneath the hood is actually the injectors and not the valves???????? what did he reccomend for the fix? new injectors?
AlmightyLexus97 Posted August 31, 2004 Author Posted August 31, 2004 well i asked if the problem could be fixed and he told me that even if i put new injectors in that it would still make that sound
Lextreme Posted September 1, 2004 Posted September 1, 2004 LOL.. injectors????? Its the valve shims..... its a common problem with the 1UZ
Lexcelsior Posted September 7, 2004 Posted September 7, 2004 So is there any way to fix valve shims and stop the clicking?
silvermate Posted September 7, 2004 Posted September 7, 2004 So is there any way to fix valve shims and stop the clicking? yes, you can get a valve adjustment.........its very pricey though, i believe its somewhere in the neighborhood of 25-30 dollars a shim.....
AlmightyLexus97 Posted September 8, 2004 Author Posted September 8, 2004 so how much in all would it cost to repair?
