cosmicfireball Posted July 4, 2004 Posted July 4, 2004 I don't know if this is the right section for this question...but here goes.... I have a 92 sc300, five speed. I live in the Northeast. I leave the country for several months during the winter. I've been strongly advised to start the vehicle, run the air conditioning for ten or fifteen minutes, once a week! Aside from human intervention,I'm wondering if there is a way to set this up...for instance with a simple remote starter and a timing device(set-up inside my home)? One problem ,clearly,is that one can't start the car by key without depressing the clutch. Any thoughts, aside from hiring undocumented workers, would be appreciated.
moune Posted August 30, 2004 Posted August 30, 2004 A remote start can be done, but installers are a little afraid to do it because they do not want to be held responsible. From what I've been told, as long as your emergency brake is up, it'll start. They wire something up to bypass the clutch so that'll it will work. But remember to put the brakes on!
SKperformance Posted August 31, 2004 Posted August 31, 2004 their are alarms that watch the volatage and start them when needed as well as others with an alrm clock to do this
