bobp Posted November 29, 2022 Posted November 29, 2022 HI, everyone, I'm a new member. I received my 2023 NX350h 10 days ago. I haven't driven it much, only about 200 miles. Today when looking at in my garage I noticed that the brake rotors are covered with rust. Is this normal? Should I do anything to get rid of it? Thanks.
Bykfixer Posted December 1, 2022 Posted December 1, 2022 It's an unfortunate normal as it looks awful but the rust rubs off when braking. It's kinda like railroad tracks. If they sit idle a few days a film of rust forms but once a train rolls over them the surface is nice and shiney.
RX400h Posted December 2, 2022 Posted December 2, 2022 Some aftermarket rotors are coated so that this is far less likely to happen but as Bykfixer mentioned, it's strictly cosmetic. Once you apply the brakes, it'll disappear.
