Rx300_coach Posted June 15, 2004 Posted June 15, 2004 hi guys, my son was driving the Lexus with me to the supermarket the other day and he gave it some gas at the green light....and the lexus jerked forward and when he let off the gas..it jerked back..i initially thought it was because he let of the gas completely to maintian a safe speed....but i just wanted to confirm with you guys that this is not something wrong with the lexus. (i don't drive the lexus very hard, so i was not impressed when this happened) it contrasted to the very 'isolated' feel of lexus...maybe it was the VVTi kicking in? thanks
SKperformance Posted June 15, 2004 Posted June 15, 2004 not the vvt check the intake hose for rips or cracks btw ....year?
SKperformance Posted June 15, 2004 Posted June 15, 2004 hmm , almost 2 new to have a ripped intake do you have enough tranny fluid? you should also have lots of warr left
Rx300_coach Posted June 16, 2004 Author Posted June 16, 2004 not sure, i think we just had the fluids replaced and what not recently. We only have 35 000km on the thing. So do you think it's worth talking to Lexus about?
bluestu Posted June 18, 2004 Posted June 18, 2004 My 1999 will do the same thing. I don't think the car is designed for quick acceleration from a stand still. I don't think it is wise to let a teenager drive an RX300. Teens usually have very heavy feet. I also own a 2000 RX300 and Lexus seemed to have corrected that problem along with a few others.
