jwkim386 Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 Hi. My car has a steering problem. The telescoping steering column is not fixed and moves like the attached video if I apply force. Do I change the steering column? Is there any solution without changing the column? If anyone knows the cause of the problem, I'd appreciate it if you could let me know. RX400h Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 It looks like the assembly was once secured and perhaps fasteners that were securing it had vibrated loose. Did you look inside with a flashlight to see if there are any unfastened screws? 1
jwkim386 Posted October 8, 2022 Author Posted October 8, 2022 Thanks. I already checked several parts. I don't know exact structure of the telescoping steering wheel but I didn't find any unfastened screws. Where can I get the document about the steering wheel structure?
RX400h Posted October 8, 2022 Posted October 8, 2022 In the past, I have gone to the dealership parts department and asked to see the exploded drawing of a particular assembly. Sometimes the parts person would print out the drawing. Some online Lexus parts companies show assembly drawings for various subassemblies but not so often of subassembly to next level images. I'd try the dealership route. 1
