  2. Ohhhh Even better idea! I could mount it to the sun visor and tap into the visor light for power! Good idea? Terrible idea?
  3. So, I'm one step closer to installing the trickle charger. Currently, I'm planning on tapping into one of the fuses in the driver's side internal fuse panel. Is there a problem with tapping into the main PWR fuse? Listed as fuse 32 here: https://www.startmycar.com/us/lexus/rx-400h/info/fusebox/2007 And listed as fuse 79 here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-2nd-gen-2004-2009/949043-windows-not-working-at-all-where-is-the-fuse.html My thought is to use suction cups or double-sided tape to connect the trickle solar charger to the window where the passenger sun visor goes. Then run the wire across the top of the window to the top of the drivers' side, then down the pillar and to the fuse box. Then connect to a part of the fuse panel that is always hot. Q: Any disastrous consequences? Q: Any better fuses or locations to tie into?
  4. My 07 RX400h has about 86,000 miles and hasn't had the timing belt changed yet... How concerned should I be?
  5. Looking for a good PPF installer near LA or San Diego area.
  6. Worked like a charm for my 1996 ES300. Key in Driver Side Door, locked and unlocked several times, watched alarm light go off and on. Crossed my fingers and she started right up. After a rear end collision (not me, my son), car alarm went off and killed the car. Tried to remove battery and waited 10 minutes, connected, no joy, alarm started going off, auto locked the doors. 馃槥 Found this Post, tried it, Voila, it worked. I tried other tricks on YT to find the #4 & #13 Pin on OBD plug, no Joy only had #4. so for older 1MF-ZE engines with factory alarm, SKP's tips worked great. THANKS SKPerformance!

  8. So on my 92 sc 300 one of the mounting bolts for the power steering pump is located in the ac unit. Well my ac unit bolt hole broke off and I don't want to replace the ac unit. Does anyone have an idea of how I can bolt in the power steering pump and still be able to to put tension on it without the ac unit?
  9. I just bought a 2008 SC 430 with about 130,000 miles. The dash fan is noisy, too noisy to be normal and I can't figure out why. Doesn't matter if the AC or heat are on or off, something is going on in the dash making noise. almost sounds like gurgling water. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem?
  10. So, I have the same issue that the previous post mentions. I have sound. The nav system is working. However, none of the controls on the radio itself work (power, volume, etc.). Additionally the volume controls on the steering column do not work either. I can use the touch screen to adjust treble, bass, fade, etc.
  11. Yeah, agreed. For previous cars I've bought old seatbelt buckle keys from junk/scrap yards (the flat metal bit that clips into the seatbelt buckle). However, not a single one in my collection fits in the ES350, so I used the OBD scanner to disable the ding.
  12. In my case, nothing that I could do myself was helping for nearly 18 months (2 winters). I changed batteries twice, jump start many times in cold weather as well as during summer. I was very frustrated because even the dealer would not tell me how long it would take to find the source of drain but at bare minimum they would try for at least 2 hours @ 303/hour for a total of $606. My local mechanic refused to start the work because he said it takes long time with unpredictable results to find a drain. I think the dealer probably could find it quicker but they still wanted minimum 2 hour charge. Somehow I got lucky. I went to another Lexus dealer with my wife for an oil change on her car. And I asked the service tech about parasitic drain and indicated that I am willing to bring my car to work on the issue. But, first I want to know what is the most common reason for parasitic drain in Lexus and how much money I am looking at for that most common reason to fix so I am well prepared. He asked what year/model; I told him LS 430-2005. He said oh, many 05 LS 430 had amplifier causing the parasitic drain. And, if that is what he finds, it could cost anywhere upwards of $1300 to replace it in addition to 2 hour charge looking for the drain. So, I came home, watched YouTube to find out where the amplifier is in the trunk, removed the black cover and just unplugged the amplifier wire connector thinking that if this works, I could live without radio in this old car which I don鈥檛 listen to anyway. It was in the middle of winter with battery dying almost every 1-2 days. I kept my fingers crossed and started the car 2 days later and by good luck it started at first turn of the key. I waited 2 more days without driving so the car sat in the driveway for 4 days and started again on 5th day. Problem solved. Now I use my cell phone to listen to music and news. Navigation, and car phone audio still work on blue tooth. The only thing that does not work is radio and CD player. I would say just my good luck that I tactfully asked that question to the service tech otherwise everybody said "it could be anything, can't tell without starting the job".
  13. I have a 99 here, I was able too locate the black hose and drain it on the passenger side but I was not able too find one on the drivers side, I know this is 5 years old but there is hope, thank you!
  14. Hi Tom. The invoice has partnumber PT219-GEN08-23. Invoice date is 5 April 2024. Attached is a screenie of the line item on the invoice. I asked for a discount and got a miserly $10.94 off the $210 list. The government of course required its pound of flesh and that pushed to nett price to $215.48. Also attached are snaps of the software nav/map update versions. Hope this helps.

  16. Do you know the date of the actual map upgrade? I've heard that Lexus stopped updating the maps in 2019 or 2020. What was the part number? What is version number that shows in the nav. The version in me 2016 ES 300H is V15A8880. thanks
  17. The simplest way to get around the ding and the light are simple seat belt extensions. Put them in and leave them there. No more lights or dings. 15 bucks a pair on Amazon
  18. Looking to buy a windshield washer fluid reservoir for a 1992 Lexus ES 300. Anyone have one of these?
  19. The Carista OBD2 scanner supports turning off the annoying seatbelt dinger for driver and/or front passenger on many Lexus models. Sadly the red dash seatbelt light remains on, but at least that awful government-imposed ding-ding can be silenced. Maybe a friend with a decent scanner can check whether your particular Lexus model is supported.
  20. Have you searched the fuse panels for the problem? There should be two panels, one on the driver's side (left foot), and passenger's side (right foot) areas.
  21. Thanks for this info, for I have the same issue.....
  22. Hello, Isaac. Does your radiator fan come on when it is supposed to? A blown head gasket could result in overheating. Also:
