  2. Dear Lexus drivers, I have been driving a wonderful 2010 RX 450H for about 2 months now. I look forward to sitting in the car every day and gliding along in a relaxed manner. However, there is one thing that has really been bothering me for a few days now. On uneven or bumpy roads, I can hear a "chirping" or squeaking noise from the rear part of the dashboard (driver's side). In other words, close to the windshield. Is this a known problem and are there any solutions? Video attached Greetings from Germany 20240510_162042.mp4

  4. Following are the results from Microsoft Copilot: The 2007 Lexus LS460 4.6L V8 does not have a transmission fluid dipstick. Instead, it uses a check valve on the bottom of the transmission. To check the transmission fluid level, follow these steps: Ensure Safety: Park your vehicle on a level surface and engage the parking brake. Warm Up the Engine: Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes to warm up the transmission fluid. Locate the Check Valve: The check valve is typically located on the bottom of the transmission, underneath the vehicle. You may need to raise the car using a hydraulic lift or an underground bay to access it. Remove the Check Valve Plug: Use a wrench or socket to remove the check valve plug. Be cautious as some fluid may drain out. Check the Fluid Level: Insert your finger or a clean tool into the check valve hole. The fluid level should be close to the bottom of the hole. If it’s low, you may need to add more fluid. Add Transmission Fluid (if necessary): If the fluid level is low, add the appropriate transmission fluid. The 2007 Lexus LS460 requires approximately 7.7 quarts or 7.3 liters of transmission fluid12. Reinstall the Check Valve Plug: Once you’ve checked the fluid level, securely reinstall the check valve plug. Verify Proper Fluid Level: Start the engine, shift through the gears (from P to 2L), and then return to Park (P). Recheck the fluid level to ensure it’s within the proper range3. Maintain Vehicle Level: Keep the vehicle level while adjusting the fluid level to ensure accuracy4. Remember to use Toyota Genuine ATF WS transmission fluid for this vehicle. If you’re unsure or need assistance, consider having a mechanic perform the check for you. Regular maintenance of your transmission fluid is crucial for optimal performance and longevity of your vehicle.
  5. Hello, Tommy. Have you researched auto salvage yards throughout the country?
  6. This problem just happened to my 02 SC430. What did the fix turn out to be?

  8. 2007 Lexus LS460 w/192,000 I took a 3-hour trip. While in traffic on the interstate, when accelerating in D (not manual) the engine "revs", not engaging as if in neutral. Shifted to manual to overcome, which seemed to work. Cruised at 80 MPH for 3 hours. Upon getting off the highway, the car would drive but it was as if It was starting in 5,6,7,8th gear...a very sluggish start. Shifted to Manual (1st/2nd) which did NOT work. No warning lights, no visible leaks, no smells. When shifting into reverse, I detected a "thud" or non-smooth shift. No way to check fluid since it's sealed. I am in rural Illinois--nearest dealer is 90 miles away. Called my dealer for ideas. Short of a diagnosis, not much insight. Need to make it back home which seems doable based on behavior. Thoughts?
  9. I have a 94 LS400 and everything was working fine up until yesterday when my central locking stopped working for all my doors, the button on my key and the switches on my doors don’t do anything and the locks on the handles only lock that specific door. Any help is appreciated.
  10. We have a new set of dark brown, never installed carpet floor and cargo mats. It fits Lexus RX 350. 2017-2020 models. Carpet floor mat set (PT206-48161-00), Carpet Cargo Mat (PT206-48160-40). We are looking to sell the whole set for $60.00, or will sell separate, $40. for floor mats, $25. for cargo mat. Please contact us!
  11. 94 GS300. In need of help identifying a drivers side door plastic insert that mounts around locking mechanism and has a tab built in to turn off interior courtesy lights when door is closed. Picture 1 shows passenger side with insert. Picture 2 it's missing. Part # or link for me to find would be greatly appreciated, I could only find for rear doors. Thanks in advance.
  12. Oh nooo. How awful. 😟 The update process for me was in two distinct phases. The first step took about 20 minutes or so. The second step required an ignition switch off and switch on again (as prompted on the display) and then took another 6-7 minutes to complete. The SD card itself has a Lexus logo, so I assumed it was officially produced and not simply a copy by the dealer. The update reset all the settings and I had to spend some time retuning the radio, setting the navigation region, re-entering saved destinations, reloading customised images for the display, etc, etc. But all works as it should. Hope you can get it sorted. As an aside, the map is still a disappointment ... on the other hand, roads are constantly changing here in Dallas. I s'pose my obsession with having all my PCs and devices on the latest software/firmware level carried over to the car. In retrospect the upgrade didn't get me any noticeably new functionality, and I probably won't use the navigation much anyway (sticking to Google Maps on my Android phone). I'm glad it's done, but it certainly wasn't worth $215.
  13. Thanks so much. It is interesting that the Lexus online parts site does not show this item as compatible with our cars. However, I looked up which radios are GEN08 and both the 2015 and 2016 ESs are GEN08. So I bought the same part number and it bricked my system. Neither the NAV nor the radio will boot. I'm still troubleshooting, and I have a call into the Lexus dealer. The fact that it worked on your car has me believing that I turned the car off in the middle of the process at a point where I thought it was done. 😞

  15. I just went Black w/the Ecru interior, and they look great. I sourced mine from Bell Lexus in Scottsdale (on eBay) and they were $90 plus $15 FedEx Ground shipping. Comes w/4 retention clips. OEM # PT208-24010-02. Ordered Saturday and received Thursday. Others have mentioned Sewell is no longer a source and I'm not familiar with them except through this forum, so give Bell Lexus a try. I had a good experience.
  16. We have a 2008 lexus hybrid 400h and it has 257,000 miles and still runs great! We have had to put a little money it as far as new control arms, and alignment etc. She is a great car and I hope she lasts a lot longer!
  17. Ohhhh Even better idea! I could mount it to the sun visor and tap into the visor light for power! Good idea? Terrible idea?
  18. So, I'm one step closer to installing the trickle charger. Currently, I'm planning on tapping into one of the fuses in the driver's side internal fuse panel. Is there a problem with tapping into the main PWR fuse? Listed as fuse 32 here: https://www.startmycar.com/us/lexus/rx-400h/info/fusebox/2007 And listed as fuse 79 here: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/rx-2nd-gen-2004-2009/949043-windows-not-working-at-all-where-is-the-fuse.html My thought is to use suction cups or double-sided tape to connect the trickle solar charger to the window where the passenger sun visor goes. Then run the wire across the top of the window to the top of the drivers' side, then down the pillar and to the fuse box. Then connect to a part of the fuse panel that is always hot. Q: Any disastrous consequences? Q: Any better fuses or locations to tie into?
  19. My 07 RX400h has about 86,000 miles and hasn't had the timing belt changed yet... How concerned should I be?
  20. Looking for a good PPF installer near LA or San Diego area.
  21. Worked like a charm for my 1996 ES300. Key in Driver Side Door, locked and unlocked several times, watched alarm light go off and on. Crossed my fingers and she started right up. After a rear end collision (not me, my son), car alarm went off and killed the car. Tried to remove battery and waited 10 minutes, connected, no joy, alarm started going off, auto locked the doors. 😞 Found this Post, tried it, Voila, it worked. I tried other tricks on YT to find the #4 & #13 Pin on OBD plug, no Joy only had #4. so for older 1MF-ZE engines with factory alarm, SKP's tips worked great. THANKS SKPerformance!
  22. So on my 92 sc 300 one of the mounting bolts for the power steering pump is located in the ac unit. Well my ac unit bolt hole broke off and I don't want to replace the ac unit. Does anyone have an idea of how I can bolt in the power steering pump and still be able to to put tension on it without the ac unit?
  23. I just bought a 2008 SC 430 with about 130,000 miles. The dash fan is noisy, too noisy to be normal and I can't figure out why. Doesn't matter if the AC or heat are on or off, something is going on in the dash making noise. almost sounds like gurgling water. Has anyone else encountered a similar problem?
  24. So, I have the same issue that the previous post mentions. I have sound. The nav system is working. However, none of the controls on the radio itself work (power, volume, etc.). Additionally the volume controls on the steering column do not work either. I can use the touch screen to adjust treble, bass, fade, etc.
  25. Yeah, agreed. For previous cars I've bought old seatbelt buckle keys from junk/scrap yards (the flat metal bit that clips into the seatbelt buckle). However, not a single one in my collection fits in the ES350, so I used the OBD scanner to disable the ding.
