  2. Just bought some black ones off Carpetimats on eBay that have white SC430 stitching on them and they were not bad at all for the price. Under $100 and made in Yugoslavia or similar eastern block country that have some laser cutting machine.

    oil leak

Ours started leaking after about 17 years. At 19 years of age our RX has not shown any other leaks.

  5. Oil leak appears to come from top of engine, valve covers Lexus 2000 ls400 engine 4.0
  6. According to Broc's post above, the axle flanges are larger on the units with LSD, though specific numbers aren't provided. I can measure the flanges when I get home, I just picked up 3 more LSD's last weekend 😁 So if you have a torsen LSD diff, you need to replace it with one, or replace the associated parts as well if you're switching to non-LSD. If you don't have LSD, you're fine to swap with another non-LSD A dealer should be able to tell you what you have based on your vin. Or you can pop the drain plug and stick a bore scope up there, there are cheap ones available nowadays. If you end up needing an LSD diff, or want to upgrade to one, send me a message, I have found over 15 now
  7. Late to the thread, but this is the closest I have come to finding good information on the subject, so any help would be extremely appreciated. I bought my 2000 RX300 a few weeks ago, and managed to run the rear end dry (not a huge leak, so obviously been very low for a long time). I only put a few hundred miles on it before the vehicle began to drive really strangely, the back end "stepping out" and wandering around and such. I've decided to replace it. Could anyone tell me if a 1999-2000 rear end could be replaced with a 2001-2003 part? I'm finding them with the same ratio, but worried there are differences in the case or axles? I haven't taken the cover off yet, so unsure if it's one of these mythical posi units or not.

  9. Thanks, am going to replace, it is worn. Have found am OEM with 8,000 miles with guarantee
  10. Will an armrest cover for a 2003 lexus rx300 fit a 2000 rx300?
  11. nothing that i no of , i have adjusted my front to rear the best it can be , the rear speakers are to small , even with the fader set 3 clicks to the rear , just a poor system ,
  12. I have the same problem. When I go to the screen to adjust the front rear fade, it is greyed out and cannot be adjusted. Do I need to turn something else off to gain this function?
  13. Has anyone tried this without emptying all the coolant out, just the radiator? I don't have the best ramps to get underneath the engine to drain the spigots by the O2 sensors.
  14. I put a post up on the RX350 page, same thing with the key. 500 miles and while my wife is out of town a rock hits the windshield. The glass company ordered a new one from Lexus today only to be told they are on backorder with no ETA. This is my third Lexus, VERY disappointed in the experience with this new car. I don't look for a change as long as we keep buying.
  15. I have been all over this forum since picking up a 99 RX300 the other day. Car has 139k on it. Awesome info in here! Mine has the dreaded 2-3 shift issue, the kicker is, guy I got it from just had the transmission replaced with a 50k mile JDM because of said issue. Got the car back and it was still doing the same thing with the new trans in it. Now some research I have done on the JDM transmissions is that they say you have to use the solenoids from the stock trans as they do not come with them, maybe I read wrong. That being said could it be the solenoids themselves. Also I see that there is a “shift improvement kit” anyone have experience with them and do you think I am on to something with the solenoids? Thank you
  16. The dealer had no idea how long it would take, from reading 6 months is not out of the question. How long has it taken to get your second key? Also, My wife got hit by a rock on the interstate today (500 miles on car) and cracked the windshield pretty bad. State Farm sent me to a local shop who ordered me a new windshield from Lexus (2024 RX350 Luxury) and was told the windshields were on backorder with no ETA on arrival. Guess we will ride around with a cracked windshield while we wait on a key....DOH!
  17. Lacking a switch, perhaps there is a fuse you could remove. That's assuming it has a fuse that's only for the charging pad..
  18. Good afternoon all, Within the past 4 months using the phone on my wife's 13 RX350 has all changed due to static and connectivity issues. We have never done a software update. Has anyone else had a problem like this? If so, what was the remedy please?
  19. I saw in the news this morning that Toyota is apologizing for incorrect testing of some Toyota and Lexus vehicles. The article said that some specs were not accurate including safety, torque and engine torque for some cars. The article I read was not clear on whether this included the US models. This comes on the heels of a pending recall for engine manufacturing debris that was left in some motors. They are reviewing a plan to repair these now. Along side this report, several other Japanese car companies stated similar failings. More importantly, I would like to say I have a lot of trust in Toyota. I have owned their cars for years with stellar results. I am sure they will get their hands around each of these issues. I just bought a new Lexus ES350 Saturday! Happy to be here.
  20. Check the race for damage and be sure you are using the correct tightening technique for the bearing load.
  21. Is there more than 1 motor that controls the movement of the steering wheel? when I move the switch back and forth there is no movement at all and I can hear a slight click in a ?relay? motor? so I assume the switch is working, and it works fine for up and down adjustment. I also disconnected the battery for aa few minutes to srr if that would reset anything but it didn't help. Thanks for your input Dave.
  22. I already turned the gear around and regreased it...works fine up and down but still not telescoping....the motor sounds fine and gearbox is quiet....I may just buy and replace the gear.
