  2. Recently I picked up a 2015 Deep sea Mica ES 350 Crafted Line for my son and it came with a glitchy Nav screen. Sometimes it works flawlessly other times it won’t work at all. I did see where there is an update to download via flash drive and was wondering if that could be the issue. Thanks in advance for any insight.
  3. I have a navigation update on USB that I got from Lexus for our 2011 RX 350. Is it absolutely necessary to have a Lexus service department do the update or is there some way I can do it myself?
  4. I had the navigation system updated by the dealership at least six or seven years ago. Recently, they changed all the exit numbers on my area highways. It means the navigation instructions are hard to follow. Does anyone know if it’s possible to get the navigation system updated? my dealership says no. I guess I should believe them since they would make money on me if they could but just thought I would ask the group. Thanks all. Jane
  5. Yes, after replacing the battery in your 2016 Lexus RX350, you will need to perform a reset to ensure all systems are functioning optimally. Here are the steps to reset your Lexus after replacing the battery: Turn Off the Ignition and Disconnect the Negative Terminal: Before you start, make sure the ignition is turned off. Then, disconnect the negative terminal of the battery1. Wait for 15 Minutes: Allow the vehicle’s systems to reset by waiting for about 15 minutes. Reconnect the Negative Terminal and Turn On the Ignition: After waiting, reconnect the negative terminal and turn on the ignition1. Reset Specific Functions: Follow the on-screen prompts to reset specific functions. This includes resetting the clock and date settings, power windows and sunroof, and the audio and navigation systems. Test the Functionality of Your Lexus After Resetting: After you’ve completed the reset, test the functionality of your Lexus to ensure everything is working properly. Please note that each window has to be reset individually. To do this, start the vehicle and roll each window down and hold for second. Also, all your radio presets will be lost and you will have to re-enter all. If you experience any issues with the functionality of your Lexus after resetting, troubleshooting options are available for common issues during the resetting process. A comprehensive test drive helps identify and address any remaining issues.
  6. Purchased new in late 2019, and since car has been sitting in the garage most of the time due to the pandemic, maintained on schedule by the dealer no replacement of anything, except a few updates/recalls by the dealer. The car has been running fine until this Wed. The Information screen just all of sudden went dark, no radio, no navigation, no vehicle info, no nothing. The only time the screen comes back to live is when the backup camera is activated. Googling online, it seems this has been a frequently occurring problem for RX350. No obvious solution. Fortunately, my rx350 is still under warranty. Took the car to the dealer first thing this morning, and after spent the whole morning waiting there, they told me they changed the screen, updated the software, only to no avail. They said it was the radio, and they ordered one for me, and asked me to go back in a week or so. This is really too much for me. We paid good money for this Lexus for its reputation of reliability. What gets me is this, 1. How come its electronics is this crappy ? Any cheap electronics from Walmart is more reliable than this ! 2. How come that the LEXUS dealers do not have any testing tools to quickly diagnosis the common problems like this ? Fooling around, swapping parts is the way the DIYers use, NOT for LEXUS dealerships ! Not for the complicated modern auto electronics ! At this point, I have pretty much lost faith in LEXUS brand. It is over rated. We have had Nissan, Mazda SUV, Van, and pickup in the past 30 years, never had any problem this ridiculous. Did anyone else have this problem ? How was it fixed ? Thanks. H.M.
  7. We have a new Lexus TX Though a Lexus owner since 1990 I find the new vehicle display and functions too complicated. The issue is there is no voice guidance. In other vehicles you could go to Settings and adjust the Volume under Navigation. I could not find such an option. Over the years we have had over a dozen Lexus vehicles, starting with the original LS 400. The SUVs have ranged from RX 300 through LX 470 etc. The one we got rid of was 2019 GX 460. TX is a big vehicle and we like most of the features. But the Navigation and Entertainment system feels too complicated. Any suggestion will be appreciated. TX being a new vehicle I could not locate much in the internet Thanks RKW
  8. I have a 2017 rx 350 . Dealer tells me that Lexus has no updated chip to update the navigation . The latest version chip only goes to 2021. No after market chip is available due to Lexus proprietary chip technology. On my 2015 Camry I can get an after market chip and it works fine . Updated till 2023 . if Lexus has a proprietary chip and can’t provide an update and its their system we bought ( not cheap ) what are the legal ramifications to Lexus ? .
  9. I apologize in advance but i haven't been able to find an answer to how do i bring my 08 RX 350 into the 21st century 🤔blue tooth is obviously hands free phone only (as far I can tell anyway). So like the title says...Whats the best upgrade for my 08 RX350 infotainment system? I'm totally a diy kind of guy, I upgraded my 01 with a unit from GROM audio which was great. I just expected more from my 08 RX 350. I don't know Whats available? Do i have to use the existing screen or replace it? as always your input is greatly appreciated, Bill
  10. Last night while out to dinner the battery in our 2016 NX200t died. We bought the car used about a year ago. The battery was original. Got a jump to get home and put a new battery in it this morning. Now the navigation screen is black and the radio won't turn on. I have read that this has been a problem in the UK with the European models but has anyone had that issue here. The car only has 50k miles on it. Thanks, Pete
  11. Does anyone have any pointers on when Lexus is going to release the latest map updates for navigation? Local dealer has been stringing me along since Dec saying they usually get them by December. Most of the roads on the installed navigation are outdated and with the amount of construction and new roads in the Dallas area, it's useless sometimes. I know phone has the latest, but I am not comfortable using navigation on phone when car has the feature.
  12. I used to be a Lexus Tech. I have this laying around and figured someone may need it. The CODE CARD is brand new and comes with this for you. I'm asking $40.00 which includes the shipping to you.

  14. Read the instructions, follow them are certainly complicated. In the CT (2017 with ML audio, sunroof, leather (synthetic) and all the extras available here) we have it is far simpler: Car is not turned on - take out the old microSD-card - insert the new microSD-card - turn on the car. Updated navigations system (2021) functions after about 20 minutes with car turned on. Have not updated since as the navigations system in Lexus is not worth using; often tells you to follow longer roads and sometimes against one way streets. Any smartphone has better navigations system and with completely free updates except for handing info about where you are while using the navigation over to Google. Most people do that anyway. Apple system is not better, also steal all the info available whenever using your phone.
  15. Replace the battery in your key fob and it will fix the radio. If the key fob battery is low, the radio will not turn on or off at all. Sometimes your screen for your navigation will be blacked out too but replace the batteries with good batteries too not cheap ones. Otherwise you’ll have the same problem. This is what I found Work.
  16. I recently bought a 2013 Lexus GX460 it is in great condition with only 41,000 miles on it. The only issue I am having with it is that it does not sync well with my and my wife's iphones through the blue tooth. I have a 2014 Tundra DC SR5 and the audio system software is some much better. Is their way to upgrade the software of the 2013 Lexus touch screen and audio system to a newer version? I was wondering if anyone had ever done something like this without changing out the screen and audio unit? I appreciate any help you could give. Thank you
  17. I'm selling my 2008 RX 350. How do I delete all the addresses from the Navigation System?
  18. Hi guys, I'm new to this forum and new to Lexus ownership as well. I've had many corolla's over the years and decided it was time to finally step it up and get a big boy Toyota. A few months ago I bought an immaculate 98 GS400 for $3800 from a guy in Ohio and when I say immaculate it was this guys baby, he may have even birthed it himself. The car has been working flawless for me and I absolutely love it. The only problem I've had so far, and the car came like this, is that the head unit screen comes up blank. I found another thread on here with two lonely Lexus owners with the same problem, but it was only merely stated by them and they couldn't find any solutions http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/topic/41111-2000-gs400-navigation-screen-blank/ (that should be the link to it). With that long winded backstory out of the way, now to the problem, a lot of which I stated in that thread. When I turn my car on the screen comes to life and says Lexus in big dramatic letters, but then after that all it shows is a solid color screen, either black or yellow depending on what button I press (menu, destination, audio, etc..). The strange thing is that the outside temp, climate control, and radio station on screen bubbles still pop up and are perfectly clear, so I believe the display isn't completely gone. I can also still use the touch screen capability to click on things and hear the little beep noise it makes, but sadly I then have no idea what I clicked on. I've taken out and reinstalled the entire head unit and I've also taken out and reinstalled the nav computer in the trunk, I even tried using the nav computer without the hard drive in it (hopefully that didn't mess anything up). But at the end of the day I'm still sitting here looking at a solid color screen. Any ideas guys? And if I did anything wrong in this post I'm most sincerely sorry, and will repent to the Japanese car gods.
  19. I have a 20/6 RX350 with navigation and backup camera. Would like to upgrade the the unit to include Apple CarPlay. Any recommendations on how best to get this upgrade?
  20. Can I update the Navigation system on my 2024 GS350, without going to the dealer?
  21. Hey yall so my 2011 Lexus LX 570 Navigation Screen is now cracked and non functional as my nephew smashed an object into it. The AC is stuck on a certain level and the touch screen is mostly non- responsive. I can’t afford the dealership prices right now. Any links to any videos about fixing this? I have read and it appears the glass could possibly be replaced. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!
  22. After much thought - cannot replace my truck and want to bring it back to factory. It is under 100k miles and spent its life in SF Bay Area - minimal rust from drives to the Sierras but it needs lots of stuff due to general neglect, random dents and dings from city life, etc. Frame is straight and engine seems stronger every day… never skimped on the mechanicals so hopefully not too much on that end of things but want to make it look new again inside and out. An upgrade to some more modern infotainment stuff would please my wife but that is nice to have. Came across this video and this is what I would love to do for my truck: I am hoping someone here can help point me to someone in Bay Area or not too far away to help take on this project for me (as much as my dream would be to do this myself) as I just don’t have the time to devote to do this myself these days. All suggestions welcomed - truck is part of the family and not willing to say goodbye 🙂 Thanks!
  23. Looking to buy OEM MARK LEV. RECVR AM-FM-CASS / Navigation complete set model # is P1760 on radio. It’s for 2008 Lexus GX470.
  24. I have a similar model and the drivers seat height adjustment could be a little higher. It's not a problem for me, but my wife needs more height. One of the reviews I read did state that the riding position is lower. I would like a beep too if to put the turn signal on and there is someone in the blind-spot. On another subject. is there any way to lock-in a screen on the navigation, so when you turn it back on you get the same screen? Mine always goes back to a zoomed out flat default screen.
