Looking for a referrel for care and tending of an older SC300 in the Boston area...maybe not precious of price.....

Thanks for the good advice....which leads me to realize I don't know what functions does R&P steering perform? I don't believe,until I get it replaced,I would let the fluid decrease to the level where I would hear grinding sounds...........

Thanks...Power steering pump and high pressure hose were replaced several years ago-so the record indicates. I would be curious to know how I will discern failing rack and pinion system..even as I keep the power steering resevoir topped off.....?will steering characteristics degrade?

I've been informed that there is the beginnings of fluid leaks in the Rack& Pinion steering unit...I don't know yet where exactly. Would someone please inform me of the implilcations of this leak? If one doesn't repair/replace the unit rapidly is there warnings of damage to other components...or If I keep the power steering resevoir filled at all times would I be considered a bad person?

I'm a new owner of '92 sc300(80,000 miles) Reviewing bills incurred by previous owner I noted that a Lexus dealer installed a remanufactured AC compressor-as the original evidently failed. Should a remanufactured unit such as this be a concern-verses a new unit?

I would add that the previous owner spent,on average,$500//year on repairs for this vehicle-not including the amazing costs for dealer recomended maintence/tires/fluid changestiming belt&etc?

Is this a normal cost figure for a sc300 with such mileage?

How does one mount a front license plate without drilling holes through the plastic housing...and without spending the $48 dollars for a Lexus Mount?

92 sc300 drivers sideview mirror only adjusts up and down...not in and out....however can throw the switch and the passangers sideview mirrow is fully functional.....What's up with that?.....thanks for any advice...

What are the disadvantages of putting the widest possible tires on standard sc300 rims(what size would thast be?)

I'll soon be owning a 1992 sc300 into which an authentic Lexus Phone System was installed in its initial year. The car will reside soon in an area with no analog service. Does anyone know if there is some magic way to convert this system to a digital mode....or do I just use this fancy system to speak to myself more effectively?

'Would you 'pros'know that came as standard with a 92 sc300...not nakamichi...does it have potential for a cd player input &etc.

...that when the battary goes dead it causes all manner of problems with the alarm system. A freind sold here sc300 'cause she could't solve this problem....As I understood what she told...the battery went dead,the security system disabeled

the ignition system(not to mention the sound system security codes stuff)and when battery was charged up the vehicle was still disabeled......many hours at the shop,on several occassions,much headache....she sold the car for this reason....Is it plausable?

I'm considering owning a 1992 sc300,manual,and wonder if someone can inform me of the security system for this car?
