  1. I don't know if this is the right section for this question...but here goes....

I have a 92 sc300, five speed. I live in the Northeast. I leave the country for several months during the winter. I've been strongly advised to start the vehicle, run the air conditioning for ten or fifteen minutes, once a week! Aside from human intervention,I'm wondering if there is a way to set this up...for instance with a simple remote starter and a timing device(set-up inside my home)?

One problem ,clearly,is that one can't start the car by key without depressing the clutch.

Any thoughts, aside from hiring undocumented workers, would be appreciated.

  2. Well....I refer only to the two back tires..both are rated V...however it appears as if the belting on one of them has shifted,or something, such that it's causing a audible 'Thumping'..so I'm thinking of replacing it with the brand new H rated spare....I know,I know...I should just spring for two matched tires....but I'm just inquiring!!!...so my inquiry refers to the replacement option...

  3. Picked up my SC300,obsessively maintained 80,000miles,and the original owner informed me that whenever he used 'regular' oil he would 'lose' a quart of oil between changes. Then he switched to synthetic oil and the oil level was not reduced between changes. Had the oil changed before a long hard drive and used a hybred oil...part synthetic/part petroleum(I don't recall the brand designation).

I'm approaching 3,000 miles and note the oil is down about 3/4 of a quart. There didn't appear to be any oil leaks.

    Would anyone advise?

    Thanks

  4. ...on the dash, drivers side, way left, there is a little black plastic half-dome,maybe 1/2" in diameter. No reference to it in the drivers manual. Automatic brights dimmers?Cops eating donuts detector?,bad music sensor??????

  5. Trying to get off easy for 'Snows'-have the reputable tires, now need inexpensive rims to mount on '92 SC300 for a coujple of months of nasty driving. Is it true that virtually any 15'' camry rim will fit just fine on the SC? Perish the thought but I am considering mounting used rims.

    Any comments/advice?

    Thanks
