the metallic would be my choice because if you get the right one it gives a rich depth & hides scratches & swirls. my choice would be the metallic black used on the 1997 porsche 911. it has a little bit of gold pearle in it you see when the sun shines on it and boy does this give it a rich look. beautiful!

I didn't know there were some 92's that didn't come with traction control and heated seat options? I just bought mine last month I'll try and get some pics up and info soon. my 92 sc400 has all options including trac control & heated seats but it DOES NOT HAVE A SUNROOF. it is the only one i have seen without one and i worked for 2 years as an estimator at SEWELL LEXUS BODY SHOP in dallas and saw a lot of sc's. is there anyone out there that has seen an sc without a sunroof?

on my side bar when i post something it says WARN 0% with some red blocks underneath. does any one know what this means?

the noise was a loud rattle that lasted for a few seconds. a rattle,yeah thats the ticket.

i think it kind of sounded like an air jack brake on a semi. i'm pretty sure it was the lifters(or valve mechanism).i think this is a common occasional occurance on these 70,000 dollar vehicles. and hell yes it's under warranty for the next 3 years. this noise has only occured one time. i use the original lexus oil filter w drainback valve.

can anyone help me out? i'm dying here.

i have a 2003 lx 470. this morning i was standing next to it when my wife started it up & it made this terrible grinding noise for a few seconds & then ran smoothly.i guess it my have been the lifters knocking or something.the lx has 16,000 miles on it & has never done this before. it did not smoke during this time. does any one know what happened?

sears sells a product called "capture" that is the best carpet cleaner iv'e ever used.it is a white powder and each grain of it works like a tiny little sponge and absorbs the stain. it has totally removed red wine from my tan house carpets. sprinkle powder on, brush it in the carpet ,wait a while and vacuum.best results on fresh stains but comes with a spray to moisten the area before applying powder.

i bought a 2003 sanddollar lx470 & it is an older design & for sure has no room under seats & stuff like my 97 tahoe i had before . the mileage is terrible too. but the thing is a beauty to look at & drive. it has a wonderful ride compared to the tahoe & a sequoia i test drove. this is one awesome truck & you dont see many around. i think the reliablility will be excellent too .

i dont know why resealing the inner plastic sheet behind the door panel fixes the leak problem. all i know is that my floor boards where getting soaked & i happened to work at a lexus body shop in dallas and a body man said that the plastic sheet was the problem & resealed both sides & i have not had a leak in 4 years since.

no need to be puzzled. the question was answered in the 2nd or 3rd post. it's the inner door panel plastic sheet(behind the interior door panel). this has to be sealed around the edges or you get water in your floor. this only happens when it rains though.

my sc 400 was doing the same thing and the problem was the plastic behind the inside door panel was not properly sealed. you have to take off the door panel & tape or using caulking to secure the sheet of plastic that is attached to the door shell. this fixed my leak problem.

i am tryng to add a photo of my car to my personal profile. i have a cd of digital pics in the c drive. i go to change photo then choose upload a new image from your computer & then clicking browse. at this point i select my photo and its number appears in the box. now i click update photo & i get an error message. can someone tell me what to do from here? thanks

the same thing happened to my sc400. the driver side plug wire coming from the coil had broken & half the cylinders were getting no spark. the cats glowed red & melted after very little time( 2 miles driving). i had to replace the cats & plug wires to fix the problem( the cats directly after exhaust manifolds)

i am a pharmacist but a few years ago i quit & got a job as an estimator at a lexus body shop for 2 years. i worked my way up to management but i eventually got back into pharmacy after we moved from texas to north carolina. i am still a lot more interested in cars than pharmacy.

I WAS LOOKING FOR A PRODUCT TO REMOVE BUG & TAR FROM MY VEHICLE AFTER THE WASHING IS COMPLETE. THIS IS THE REAL STUBBORN STUFF THATS LEFT USUALLY. I WANTED A PRODUCT THAT WOULD NOT TAKE MY WAX OFF. I THINK I HAVE FOUND A GOOD PRODUCT IN TURTLE WAX BUG & TAR REMOVER SPRAY. I SPRAY IT ON & LET IT SOAK A BIT & THEN I WIPE IT OFF & BUFF IT A BIT LATER. THE PRODUCT HAS WAX IN IT ALSO. HAS ANYONE USED THIS STUFF & IF SO WHAT DO YOU THINK OF IT?I LIKED IT.

I WAS VACUMING MY NEW 2003 LX 470 TODAY & I NOTICED A FAN UNDER THE DRIVERS SEAT IN THE FLOOR BOARD. WHAT IS IT FOR?

i have a friend that bought a certified 2002 gs300 at parkplace in dallas several months ago.recently he has noticed that the roof strips have dents all over them. is this normal? i think its either a sign of hail damage or damage from removal process.the car does not have any signs of paintwork that iv'e noticed. any body have this problem?

say you have washed your car & its been waxed recently. what product do you use to remove the bug & tar specks on the front & down the sides without removing the wax coating? i usually use a wet rag & then dry the area but this takes a lot of elbow grease. a bug & tar remover would remove the wax coat i bet.maybe a little soapy water on a wash cloth is the answer.

i have a 92 sc400 w 170,000 miles on it and the original o2 sensors. the car runs just as good as when i bought it in 1995 with 57k on it. do i need to replace o2 sensors or wait till there is a problem? how many sensors do i have & how much does it cost to replace them? thanks

i have a charcoal steering wheel in my sc that was worn & slick. i wrapped its different sections in tennis racquet handle tape that matched its color perfectly.it looks good(sporty) and provides some much needed grip.
