  1. Hi Guys, I need some advice on how to remove the needles on the instrument cluster. I thought that all I need to do is pull the needles. I tried that, but I am afraid to pull it harder. How hard shall I pull it? I am afraid it might break something inside. Before I do some damage I need some help from you guys.
  2. Thank you all guys for replying to this thread. I guess I posted too quickly that the CEL is still ON when I replaced the vacuum modulator. After my wife drove the car for a few days, the CEL disappeared. My guess is that you have to drive the car for a few miles after changing the modulator for the CEL to reset. I am just guessing I don't know if that is true. Anyway my problem is solved. All your responses to this thread are excellent. More power to you guys.
  3. I just replace the modulator for my 94 es300. The CEL is still on. What is next? Where is the EGR sensor on this car. Alldata diagram is only showing vacuum modulator, egr valve & vacuum switching valve. Hope to hear from you guys.
  4. Has the same check engine code on my 95 ES300. As George pointed out, in all probability it's the vac modulator. EGR valve failure is very uncommon and nearly everyone who has posted here has fixed the P0401 CEL by replacing the vac modulator (myself included). The diaphragm's in the modulator dry rot and no longer hold a vacuum, causing the CEL. Dealer wants like $70+ for one, picked up a aftermarket one off Ebay for $29 shipped to my door. Works like a champ, no more CEL! Here's the seller.... Ebay Aftermarket Vacuum Modulator
  5. Thanks Icefury for your input I sure will try that. Have a nice day.

  7. Thanks for your input George. I see the vacuum modulator but I don't see a sensor. I guess 1994 does not have an EGR sensor. Is there any way to clean the modulator or I just have to buy a new one. Anyway, thanks again. I hope the CEL will disappear after this.
  8. Hi Guys, The code P0401 indicates EGR. Are there any more I can check before I replace the EGR. It cost $175.00 @ Autozone and it is hard to install. Any help will do. Thanks.
  9. The dealer did not replaced my rotor. What they did is machined front brake rotors, installed updated front and rear brake pads per TSB# SB0070-09. I think I am happy with what they did. It is under warranty so I didn't pay a single cent. If it shake again at 20k I will replace the rotor myself. I do a lot of DIY on my cars. Thanks again guys for your input.
  10. Thanks guys. I will tell you all what the dealer decide come Monday.
  11. Do you think guys that I could insist for the dealer to change the rotor at 10k. It is under warranty. What if they insist of just turning it. What are my recourse.
  12. Its your rotors if you can get the dealer to replace them you are ahead of the game they just turned mine when it happened on mine at 8k, By the way rotor warping is very common on the 07 ES. Thanks for the information. I will insist that the dealer replace the rotor.
  13. Can anyone help me with my 2007 Lexus ES 350 with 10,000 miles on it, it shakes when I apply brakes especially when loaded. If I am the only on the car it doesn't seem to do that. I took it to the dealer and they say that it might be the rotor. It is still under warranty if I elected it to be turned. I think I will just wait until the problem worsen. I can't believe that it is the rotor, it's only 10,000miles.
  14. Thanks George. I went to the dealer this morning and they told me it might be the rotor. They could machine it down or just wait until it worsen. I will post this thread on the correct year. Thanks again.
  15. Don't understand what TSB's mean. If the there's nothing wrong with the rotor what seem to be the problem.
  16. Can any one tell me what's wrong with my 2007 Lexus ES 350 with 10,000 miles on it, when applying breaks it shakes when fully loaded. If I am the only one on the car it doesn't seem to do it. Does this car has a rotor problem at 10,000 miles?
