  1. It's been acting up for months. The display light would go off when parked in hot sun and the volume control and push button stations wouldn't work but I could make adjustments from the steering wheel. Now it won't turn on at all. No tape or disc. The navigation works normally. It has 81,000 miles. Btw, earlier this week the a/c compressor went out for $1,150 ouch! Any ideas on the radio?
  2. My daughter's 01 RX-300 has the same "No disc detected" reading. I looked in the trunk and noticed water has collected in the spare tire recess. Also below and behind the nav unit there is about 2 inches of water in the recess. I'm assuming water has ruined the unit. Any suggestions on how the water is getting in?
  3. Santa left an '04 Nav update under the tree. I have an '01 RX300. The dealer wants $96 to install. I know the unit is in the trunk. Can I do the install myself?
  4. keep me updatd too I think the location of the DVD varies based on car model. My RX300 has it in the trunk, far right side under the jack. There is a slide switch to expose an eject button. Not sure what to do from there.
  5. I have an 01 RX 300 and maybe it works way different than the new ones, but if you are taking a trip with multilpe stops, why not enter each as a separate trip. Then when you want to go to your first destination, just enter it from marked points. When you are ready for the next leg, enter that one. This will allow you to use the nav to travel around the city you are visiting.
  6. I have an 01 RX 300 and my dealer said installation is about $100, so the total cost will be about $500. Ouch. I've been following navigation threads to see if installation can be done by the owner and if the DVD is available at discount.
  7. I seem to get streeks after a couple of months, even with the premium blades, so I don't think they are worth it.
  8. You may want to stop rotating your tires so you can find the problem wheel. May be a yaw or dog-tracking problem.
  9. I have an 01 RX 300 and inquired at the dealer. Installed will be the better part of $500. Ouch.
  10. The other day I ran across a dialog on updating the navigation DVD. How do I get back to that topic. I tried "navigation updates" in the search box and nothing came up. How do you search for a topic?
  11. I have an 01 RX 300 and and occasionally notice I'm not on the road. Sometimes the green oval GPS logo is not displayed so I assume its searching for a satellite. Also, there are two state parks where I drive in way "off the road" every time.
  12. Can anyone help me use the forum? The help link is not enough. I need more assistance on how to find a topic. The search button doesn't get me to where I want to go.
