Ha, that is funny. I wanted the clear lenses on the taillights but decided to tint them. After I tinted them, I thought it would nice to offset them with white and the way the turn signals line up, I thought that would be a good look. I guess you are right, they do look a lot like a benz s class. Here I thought I was being original and you have to rain on my parade. J/k Thanks for the compliments. I wil add some interior pics later. I am putting some 20 inch KMC chrome rims on it this spring. They wont be too over the top, just a clean old school 5 star with a deep dish, think dollar bill deep.

I am sure this has been beat to death but thought I would ask. I have an 01 430 and the navi works but seems it wont get me to ANY place totally. It says, some of the roads wont show and you have to use the visual map to find destination. I can input a place that has been there for 20 yrs and same thing. Question, does anyone have a newer disk to pass along so I can see if I can get any use out of this ? I have a magellan and it rocks. I have it in my other car but find myself pulling it out of it and installing in lexus. I would like to be able to take advantage of the navi unit but if it is junk, I will install a dvd/cd player in its place. I am sure I will lose the 6 disk changer but hey, gotta do something besides look at the worthless navi unit right ? Help ? Thoughts ?

Update: I was suspicious that the dash had gotten pretty wet considering the tint is sopping when it is applied to the windshield. I drove it for a few days with the front defrost on solid. I kept the air flowing through there and after a day or so, everything went back to normal. Windows roll down fine, mirrors tilt and can be manually moved and the computer isnt "sensing" and open doors etc.... I love the cost for the fix but if anyone is getting windows tinted, please tell the tinter to take caution if applying a windshield strip, to make sure that they keep the dash dry with a few chamois or a towel or something. I guess that had to be it, 2 days and no issues at all. Thanks for everyones input and thoughts. :)

I guess I am computer challenged but I searched this forum and all forums and didnt find anything specific enough. Can you lead me in the right direction ? I dont know where/how what to look for anywhere, except trunk maybe :P I would like to know more about it. Is it usually a tighten up the harness, and done or is it replace this check that etc... You know, I kinda had on my mind moisture. My buddy tints for a living and I have seen the process done hundreds of times and there is a lot of water involved / The tint is saturated prior to being applied to the glass so that it is slick and moveable during installation. I dont know what to do other than eyeballing the harnesses, if I can find them...... :(

If it is weak, and it sounds like it is, it should be replaced. It is obviously not doing the job, either weak or bad since the car wont start on its own. I imagine it is the alternator. These cars have lots of accessories and I imagine the alternator should be hitting 14 and change when running. If the battery has been changed two times, I would head in that direction to be sure. Did the car almost start or nothing ? Good luck with it, I have chased down that exact problem before and turned out to be alternator. A new battery should charge the alternator right up and it should read 14 plus, hopefully it is JUST an alternator. :)

Hey there everyone. I have an 01 430 with 102k on the clock. I have had zero problems out of it. I had my front windshield tinted, just the strip at the top and a buddy did it. I was gone and trust him with my car for months not just hours. Anyway, I started it up and the drivers side window worked fine. I cant roll down pass side window or back windows from drivers side/ If I go to the pass side or the back, they roll down fine. The mirrors are acting crazy too. They wont open up after leaving car and returning. I have them set to close up tight when exiting vehicle. My buddy jumped in the passenger side and when he closed the door, the car computer (dash) said pass door was ajar. He checked it, slammed it up and to no avail. It finally went off and yesterday the drivers side said the same thing and the door was def shut tight. I cannot operate the mirrors manually either and they dont tilt down when in reverse. I have a light that occasionally flashes, it is on the left of the steering column and has a car picture on it with a key in the middle of the car ? I cant find my manual so I am lost. Anyway, the car still runs perfect and no issues driveability wise but before I get bent at the dealer, I thought I would ask you folks if you had any ideas ? I did disconnect battery after it started acting up and left if off about 30 minutes but it didnt reset anything. I checked the fuses I THOUGHT could have been the culprit but as you know there are like 5 fuse boxes etc... and I am not that familiar with this car. For the record, no accidents or damage etc... and this just happened after the tint strip was done. The automatic dimmer for the rear mirror is still working and ac/heat all work. Oh, about a month ago, the steering wheel quit going all the way up upon exiting but now it works flawlessly ? I know it is probably a gremlin, aka wiring issue or solonoid etc but thought I would shoot it out there. Any help is seriously, GREATLY appreciated as the 08 yr was a long one for me too. sounds funny, I have never heard of what your dealer told you but I dont know much. Everyone please remember to run your a/c for 10 minutes each month during the winter to keep the o rings and everything lubed up so you dont run into issues next spring/summer when you need it. Alex

That sounds good but it doesnt seem right as the car is a lexus. Is it loud at a light or rolling out easy from the light ? I swear it sounds louder than my 07 Corvette lol......... Can we get updated gas mileage ? I am interested :)

Well, I put it down and tried the Crystal View product from Advance. Turns out it seems to be the only place to get it. I must say it cleared the lenses completely. I cannot believe the transformation. It looks perfect from a foot or two and noone would ever mention my lights as being dull or yellowish any longer. This product is fantastic. I appreciate the heads up on this Jim. I am thankful that you knew about it. Alex

I try to drive easy and slow but always find myself with with my foot in it a bit. My other car is a 07 Vette so it takes some adjustment to get into the Lexus 430 but it is nice. I find myself at about 15.3 to 16.6 on the computer after resetting and driving in town. I have seen 18 but I was driving miss daisy when I was able to get that good. I too get about 27 on the interstate as I set it on cruise about 78 or so. :)

I have an 01 430 and it has the same thing on the pass mirror. It folds out but then it needs adjustment. I have addtl issue with that side as it clicks and clicks a few times before stopping, like it doesnt know it is fully opened or something. Good luck with it, I will be watching to see if anyone has any advice.

It cant be that difficult as there is probably a fuse or something that could be pulled. I think there is 4 fuseboxes and surely one would shut that down. I will get taken to the cleaners at the dealership and it will take them 5 minutes. <_<

Everytime I start the car, the lady comes on and says the lexus something or other is not active etc... and it is driving me crazy. How do I shut her up,off ??

I guess I will leave my drl on. I have been debating back and forth on it. I just think it looks better w/o them but if it is safer, that is more important. Thanks for the updates on the lenses. I will def get to work on mine. It sounds like the product is the one to go with. :D Alex

Thanks again. I looked at them today and was uh...... I will pick some up tomorrow and try it. I appreciate the tips too as I would have probably messed it up.. Were your lights just a bit scratched, cloudy or what ? Mine look a bit yellowish from heat or something as it reflects into the chrome casing that is under the plastic and it looks yellowish or dull due to the reflection.Mine also seem to have heat cracks, very fine but there just the same. I am only guessing but I believe that the daytime running lights heat the lense covers up and break the lense down faster than usual. I would love to know how to turn them off permanently as I dont like the look. I guess I could disable the bulbs but I am afraid it will set off a code or something. I hope it works for me as well. I will let you know how it turns out. Thanks for the post !!!!

Oh my.. that vette is everything I hoped it would be! haha here is my old C4 http://www.cardomain.com/ride/835744 .. after the rear'ender, I put a 1.5" rasied hood on it, and full exhaust, and removed the rear wing, but I don't have pictures of those! Your car is my 2nd favorite color for the C4 Vette. Black Rose is number 1. I bet the hood looks nice. I really like the white powdercoated rims with the white paint and tinted windows and blacked out taillights. It is one of the biggest headturners around. You should be very proud of that car, it looks like it was fixed nicely and professionally.

Hey there everyone. I have a 01 430 and it has the xenon lights and the outer casing looks pretty bad considering how nice the rest of the car looks. It has hairline cracks in them and possibly a bit yellowish haze ? I tried a few plastic products to clean them up and no luck. Is there a product that really works or is there an aftermarket company that sells the outer lenses ? I feel I could get the headlight assemblys out and figure out a way to open the casing. If they make an outer case for it, can someone lead me to the site or company that has it ? The car looks fantastic except the headlight assemblys. :( Thanks, Alex

It has a lot of useful info. Thank you ! Ian, Here are a few of my car. It has the Z-51pkg with the heads up display. I have both tops, and it came with the navigation and the heads up display. The last picture shows the heads up, that is a very cool picture. I had a 94 black rose and loved it. It was a nice car. :)

Thanks for the replies. I do appreciate it. I bought the car and it was 16 even. I like it a lot and it is very smooth. My daily is a 07 Vette so you know the difference is amazing. Two totally diff cars. I will peruse the site here and try to start learning about these cars. I love the color, mine is white metallic(dont know the correct color code ?) and has the tan interior with the ultra luxury pkg with 17 inch chrome rims. 90k on the clock and I swear it runs like a new vehicle. I can just barely hear it running and it is so dead smooth. Anyway, glad to be in the club here. I am very happy with my purchase and hope to learn a lot here. Alex :)
