  1. How do you guys apply the vinegar onto the car? Do you just pretty much pour it on? I'm just curious, but does it still stink after you rinse it with water?
  2. Since this is my first car to have HID headlamps (or any fancy cool feature, for that matter), I've never known how damn bright it was in reality behind the driver's seat, and I'm seriously contemplating getting conversion kits for my other car (maybe even the motorcycle!) as well from www.misterjung.com . Anyone know how bright the HID's on an 04' LS430 is in lumens, and what color temp it is on the kelvin scale?
  3. SW03ES, I couldn't agree with you more. :)
  4. Thanks for the info, I really appreciate it. I'm just curious, but how can I tell if the rear rotors are warped? I know the symptoms of the front rotors of a car being warped, but I've never had to shave or replace rotors for the rear wheels before.
  5. I'm putting only 87gas in my LS right now and I'm never gonna put anything higher. I personally firmly believe that higher octane doesn't affect anything, and if it does, it's too little for me to notice. I run 87 only on my fuel injected Suzuki GSXR sportbike, this engine is definitely more finicky and tells you if your oil sucks/filters are bad/(cant think of any more little parts off the top of my head right now) and it doesn't make a single hiccup or ping (I HAVE had pings before, when the bike was brand new, I actually could feel it with the engine under me) as i string it out at 10-14,000 rpm on the freeway and empty straightaways. My bike eats it up just fine, my lower-tech (yes yes, it IS an advanced engine compared to most other cars, but it's not as high-tolerance and super-fine tuned like a race engine) Lexus will do just as well. Just my 2 cents.
  6. My wife drove my 04' LS430 for a few miles with the parking brake all the way engaged before she noticed that the red brake light was on :chairshot: . When she got home and told me about it, I went into the garage and noticed this weird, almost metallic burning smell. The best way i can describe it is that it smells like an electric power drill or electric motor that's been burnt out. I'm going nuts right now trying to think what that smell might be exactly, and if her careless and stupid mistake caused any damage. Anybody have any knowledge in this sort of thing/mishap? I can say right now, she's NEVER driving it by herself again
  7. Yep, it was a big change, but not too painful on the wallet. As much as I loved my Firebird to death, it just became wayy way too unreliable all of a sudden, and the amount of money i spent from the repair bills monthly finally pushed me over the edge and I took the plunge to trade it in for something VERY different after years of sports cars/sedans. Funny thing was, I seemed to have an unlucky model, I know Camaros/Trans Ams aren't rolling lemons (had one many years before and it lasted for 6yrs without a hiccup) and they're reasonably well built, but mine just started crumbling into a POS. Sigh... it's long gone now.
  8. Hi, first time poster here, I just traded in my red '02 Trans Am WS-6 for a green '04 LS430. Great forum. I'd give the nod to using Zaino, I used it on my Firebird and it was absolutely beautiful and lasts for quite a while. Not quite 2 1/2 yrs like one of you said, but for several months at a time. For brighter colors I think Zaino works better than Klasse, but it doesn't match the depth that Klasse gives for darker hues (I have a friend with a black Acura CL and a red Ford F150 with Klasse on both, my red car shamed his but his black car definitely looked better than my black Nissan). As soon as the dealer wax/sealant wears off on my Lexus, i'm gonna give it the full Zaino treatment, clay/wash/polish.
