Hello, I just drove my lexus from houston tx. to savannah ga. 17 hours and 1200 miles. I purchased it from houston tx and when i bought it, it smoked at start up every time. i was not worried. the oil they had in it before i dont know what it was but i changed it to mobile 1 full synthetic 0w20 and mobile 1 oil filter. when i got home today i cranked it about 4-5 times and all the times i let it sit for a while and no smoke from the tail pipes at all. What has happened when a car sits for a while the valve guide seals shrink which causes the oil to seep past the seals after shut off. whick causes the infamous white puff of smoke at start up. The car runs better than it did when i bought it, it quieter and no white smoke at start up. oh i forgot, when i first bought it i used a can of restore for the 8 cyl. motors for 500 miles before switching to mobile one. try this and i am sure this will help you. keep me posted

Thanks Jibbby. i just e-mailed the guys in australia about the manifold kit and all the stuff that goes with it. i want to use an eaton 90 supercharger on top of the manifold. i think it just looks more factory looking. the terra charger puts out a couple more psi but i leaning toward the eaton. i will keep you posted

all of you guys are right. i just bought a 1992 with 139000 miles and it broke on me (timing belt) just died, had it towed and every thing is like new no problems. the dealer said it was a 50/50 chance that i bent the valves. I just told them to replace everything, seals, both tensioners, water pump ,timing belt and contacts for starter. they were surprised when it started and ran fine. This was a toyota dealership in tx. the technician that worked on it was good though. all the other techs were scared to work on it. i would have done the work myself but i am working 70 hours a week in houston space center soooooooo..... wasnt up to the task.

Just changed my tranny mount today and boy what a difference. i had the thump in mine, that loud humming noise coming from under the console and the feeling of going over railroad tracks at or between 30-40 mph. solved all of those problems. it has 140000 miles so it was do and the job was easy. really straight forward. i have the old transmission mount if you want to see it. change that part before you change the fluid and see if that helps.

Hello club members. I havent been in the forum since 2002 the indicator says. Well i was in the military then and have been to iraq, went back to the middle east as a civilian and now back in the states. I was an apache helicopter mech. in the army and i still am on the civilian side of the house. back then i had a 94 ls400, my wife totaled it in march of this year and i purchased a 1995 in may, i just recently puurchased a 1992 sc400 in mint shape. 5000.00 139,000. just changed timing belt, water pump etc. etc. looking to install a supercharger on it the first of the year. when i am ready to purchase, i will let you members know, show pictures of the install while i am doing it and provide performance gains. i intend on doing all the work myself once i buy the kit from forced air technologies in aussie. thanks for reading and glad to be back in the states with my lexus'
