  1. Congrats on the car. Glad you can afford a nice car for the wife. If it would have been me and the bad luck of the wife I would have gotten her a Corolla. :cries:

Also someone mentioned ES having only wood steering wheels ? My 01 does not, are you talking of the newer stuff ?

  2. Curious if there are little things that bother you in your near perfect Lex ?

For me its a airduct thing that is in the way on the right side where the feet are. It bumps into my right foot everytime I switch from the break to the accelerator. It almost feels that it is "catching" my foot at times. I'm 5'11" and the seat is adjusted right. I also don't have giant feet (size 10 1/2).

Just interested in little things that bother you out there.

Weird problem... Not driving enough ?

We maybe put 100 miles a month in our Lexus. You know, work, church and shopping. We are lucky that work/church and shopping is only 2 miles from home.

Question, is it "bad" not to drive a vehicle. I mean, I understand that the engine and all parts need to move to get all their "juices". What is too few miles ?

Maybe this can be the excuse I can get to drive it around more ;-).

    Next... Dealer Maintanance ?

We bought this 2001, ES 300 Lex as a Certified vehicle at like 44,900 miles. Great car we love it. OK, now we have to take it in for its 45,000 miles. We are only at 46,000 miles. I have no problem taking it in but should the Certification process have taken care of most of the major things that I should be concerned with at the 45,000 check ? Basicaly, what things should I really be looking into ? Don't want a bunch a stuff pushed that might be true for a car that has been driven a lot.

    Everything runs smooth as silk.

    Thanks,

    George

  4. I have a black ES 300 (01).

Like most who have dark cars I have a love/hate relationship with it.

My latest "emergency" question is why does bird chit stain ?. This last week a bird poo'ed on it. I quickly cleaned it with a little warm water but there still is a "stain". A little "mark" where the chit was. The car has wax, whats up ?!

Any suggestions on how to remove the poo stain.

  5. OK, I have a black 01 ES 300. Got it about 6 months ago. It came detailed from the Lexus dealer and has been garaged and "dry mopped" often. This car is very clean. Winter is fast approaching and I want to give it a good cleaning/waxing before the rain.

Question, after washing it and drying it with the right stuff what do you guys suggest for a detailing job. Again the car is very clean other than a few micro scratches and old water spot marks.

I have read the guides but would like you guys to give me your advise. Give me a "routine"/waxs or polishes. Stuff to cover the micro abrassions and a good protectant from the wet. Please, make it as simple as posible. No need to go crazy.

Since it is a black car I'm aware that some issues my arise.

    Thanks.
