I would stay away from Midas any of those type of places. I don't know about where you are but out here in Northern CA they are known to be some of the biggest rip off places. George

How about if we as individuals recognize it as spam and ignore it ?
I mean if you don't want a restaurant gift certificate then don't open the thread.
Personal choice.

How much did this fiasco cost you, if you mind me asking ? Geo

I "fixed" it. I pulled the bulb. Thanks, George

Thanks Toy. I posted over there. If I pull the belt out two feet the light goes off. I think there is a switch behind the plastic by the belt. I'll pull it out to check. Geo

OK, I got a 99 Corolla that has developed a odd problem. I know, I know this is a Lexus forum and how dare I pollute the forum but I figured your all smart and since Toyota is the poor relative maybe you could help.
The seat belt light does not go off once belts are buckled and stays off when they are not. The lights are working backwards ! also have not had a buzzer for them for a while. Annoying as heck.
Ideas ?

OK, how about removing a tape type pinstrip ? I have it on my Corolla and I want it off. Short fo using my nails any better/faster method ? Geo

Monarch: I live in Rancho so I'm not far. Thanks, George

Hey monarch:
Always good to read your posts.
Any good non-dealer repair shops here in Sac ? Someplace where minor stuff/maintance could be done ?

Ahhh, the joys of a black car. :P They sure are a pain in the a-ss to keep up but nothing looks finer or more elegant that a clean black car.
A word of warning. Some here use detailing as a form of foreplay or sexual release. The only foreplay I want to see in my car is in the back seat not on the rims. Its almost like they don't have women in their lives. Just kidding.
You got to admit detailing a car for 10 hours is a bit strange. If you don't get off on using Q-tips on emblems then wash it, dry it and wax it. Carefully of course.
I got a black 01 ES300 and thankfuly I have a garage.

Nick: Good luck. Sorry to here about your experience. I bought a CPO 01, ES300 from Lexus of Roseville. I have had it just about a year and a half now and it has been the best car ever. The Lexus folks here in Sacramento, CA are so very professional. HQ should be made aware of everthing that went on, they do not want their name brought down by some dirt bag dealer. George

10 pages ?! Man I hope my sytem never goes bad !! George

I suggest a empty bottle to pee in. The Gatorade ones are good. Make it a big one just in case you have to use it more than twice before finding a clean bathroom.

Thanks for the advise. Brake paint it is. Now what color paint do you think would go best with a black car ? Black or silver ? Do they even have different colors ? George
-
OK gang, I know I'm not the only one with a little rust on the rotor and the brake parts. It is visible through the rims. What have you guys done to "dress" this area up ? Rustoloum ? George

Hummm... 45-55 miles per hour on a CA freeway will get you either a ticket for going to slow or get you run over by a 18 wheeler.
All this gas savings talk is kind of ridiculous if you ask me. Drive normal and eat the extra buck or two it costs at the pump.

I never looked at my 2001 ES 300 as a sports car. I see it is as a sofa on wheels. Actually I would hate to really race the car, it just does not have the pepiness that I like when I have the need for speed.
All those mods seem like a lot of work to get a few HP or MPG. Plus it does not look that great. But for each his own. I would spend a lot more time fixing that sagging lip that Lexus has.

I got a black 01 ES 300. I use the California Duster/Mop and it works great. George

OK, maybe I'm not up to date on tints but don't that all get ugly after a while ? Like peeling and bubbles ? Or is that something else ? George

How lazy have we become when some are willing to pay a couple of grand to have shades come up and down when you can do it physically in two minutes and less than 20 bucks !!

exdotcomer: I like you attitude. Life is too short to be on fighting mode all the time. Accidents happen, they fessed up, they will make good. Totally different if they denied it and told you to screw yourself. Later, George

Nothing. Zero. This was the first check up from a CPO vehicle. So no charge. All they did was change the oil, filters and check a few things. They also did a very nice detail job on my baby. Obvious difference on how Lexux dealerships treat their clients. Nice !
I used loaner from them for the afternoon, a 2005 RX 330. Not that impressed.

I got the 2001 ES 300 Black on Tan. All that shiny black and crome makes to jump out. I looked at many cars and other Lexuses and I got to say that this model just had the classier line. Geo

Yet another example that smoking is a horrible costly habit.
Get the smoker to pay what it costs to replace.
Get new friends that don't think that throwing a lighted cig out of a car is OK.
