  1. Guys !! Lets not scare this guy away... he's way too funny. Geo
  2. If you do this you might get another few 10ths of a second.... Remove the interior. Remove seats. Remove unused wiring. Remove carpets. Remove sound deadening material. Remove underseal material. Remove windows. Remove fenders. Remove hood and trunk. Of course remove the spare tire. For each pound you remove you will gain speed. Good luck. Hope it helps. I guarantee you will impress your friends. Geo
  3. Somehow I knew ns was going to ask this question. Do a search... don't waste your time with Cold Air Intake. Geo
  4. ns: You'll either be one of the shortest lived new member or you will entertain us for a long time. Take our advise and don't mess up that car and kill someone in the process. Walking away from a foolish race/bet shows who the better person is. Good luck and look out Ohio ! Geo
  5. You got to know your limitations and pick your fights... what is your friend running ? Maybe you just won't be able to beat him no matter what. The race you don't want to win is the one into the tree. Take care. Geo P.S. I also have a 2001 ES 300. Heres a old post/photo.... http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...hl=Pebble+Beach Like I said Relax.....
  6. Dude, do your parents know what your doing with their car ? ;-) Bored ? Are things that bad in Ohio ? You should be cruising with your girl and not racing around like some dopey ricer. Relax... enjoy the ride. Geo
  7. Do koalas really taste like chicken ? I bet they taste good on the BBQ. B) A bronze skink laying out on the terrace ? What no women ? You Aussies are strange. Geo P.S - My 2001's belt squeaks for a minute or so and stops as the car warms up. Not all the time but still a bit irritating.
  8. Are you sure you don't have a koala caught in the belts ?!... sorry couldn't resist. :whistles: Geo
  9. Lace: You mean to tell us that when your new "dry" toilets flush "it" goes straight down ?... no swirl ? Briliant !! What will the Aussies think of next ?! I hate those water saving toilets. Thank God I have a older house with nice big tanks. By the way I'm sorry about Steve Irwin, the Croc Hunter. He was a much loved figure here in the States. My wife and I will miss him. Later, Geo
  10. Lacebug: Welcome. They sure are nice cars aren't they. Regarding the brochure... my guess is best to find one from the Lexus dealer down there... the "language" might be different. :P Good luck. Geo P.S. By the way which way when flushed does the toilet water cirlce down there ?
  11. choco: If you do a search you will find that several of us have the same problem. Most have not been able to figure it out. I have tried that knob and it still does not make the key chirp. I hope someone can enlighten us to other ideas. Later, George
  12. Not the wax... crystal meth. Kidding... the wax. I met a guy that really likes the stuff but I have never heard of it. I figured maybe someone here had. George
  13. I know its not car related or that it may be deleted but I just had to share. Please take the time to watch this short video and remember all thsoe that died. http://www.catsprn.com/heroes.htm Latr, George
  14. OK. 2001 ES300. The temp needle is not moving. It just lays there. No overheating, no codes no problems. Everything else works great. I called the dealer and he told me start by checking the fuses, that there was a dedicated one for the temp gauge. Is this true ? I can only find the location for a general gauge fuse. Anyone know where that fuse is ? Geo
  15. I just asked the dealer for the price of the 60,000 mile maintance on my 2001 ES300. They wanted close to 600 bucks. This mantance schedule is basically changing fluids and filters. Suffice to say I'm doing some stuff myself and shopping the rest at a Toyota place. G
  16. Traitor !!... Nice G35 !!! Congrats. Seriously do you have any repair manulas for the 2001 ? gspatta@worldnet.att.net
  17. Interesting how a little thing can make such a big difference. When I was looking at several ES's on the lot those bright clear leneses just finishes the car. I was not looking to spend more but did just because the elegant way the lenses and other things (black color) made the car look I did. George
  18. Any of the "deceased" manuals left laying around ? George
  19. Wow !! That was one bad hit. Sad to see my cars twin get mangled. Glad your OK. Any "cool" parts fall off that I can use on my 2001 ? Any repair manuals ? Sorry if I sound insensative. George
  20. snuggle: Thanks. Pebble Beach is beautiful and would be heaven if I had money !!! That place has got to be the most expensive places around. The houses, the food (we picnic), etc. Strangely enough there are tons of houses for sale in the place. I don't play golf. Never understood the fascination of hitting and chasing a little ball on green carpet. Later, George
  21. Thanks. All stock. I don't need a second more in acceleration nor a couple more horses in power. It gets me where I want to go in style. B) George
  22. OK, here's my Lexus (2001 ES300) at Pebble Beach. Geo
  23. SW: The car runs smooth as silk. No heating issues. No warning lights or the such. Would not a thermostat problem show up as a issue ? Could it be a sensor (if it has one ) ? Any other ideas ? I'd like not to sound like a imbecile when I take it in to lexus. George
  24. 2001 ES300. I just noticed (wifes car) that while driving the temperature gauge/needle does not move at all. I have driven it for 6 hours straight and the needle stays right at the bottom. No movement whatsoever. I know this can't be right since most cars the needle goes to mid range and goes up and down as you drive. What do I tell the tech to check ? Thanks, George
