  1. I'm thinking about adding two subs and an amp. I saw that crutchfield is running this special on Infinity subs http://www.crutchfield.com/S-5rfAGvs9UPt/c...=1081042W&g=520 buy 1 get 1 free. I was thinking about matching that up with an Alpine amp. Let me know if you guys have any recommendations. Thanx

  3. Power is nice to have but think about it honestly, unless you're using your car for competition what is the use of all that power. Are you going to be racing on the highway? Don't get me wrong I want to upgrade my car and get some more horsepower out of it but I don't need 500-600hp. I want to turbo it just want to get maybe 350hp out of it. I do think the GS3 is a bit sluggish and wish I would have opted for a GS4 but I'll get the power I need some day. And honestly, if you put that much power into your daily driver you're just asking for trouble, tickets, accidents and possibly death. So just think about that because everybody wants more power but ask yourself do you really need THAT much power.
  4. I like the first one the most and the second looks alright. I don't like black rims. I considered it cause I have a black on black 01 GS3. Nothing smaller than 19".
  5. All the intakes are about the same, The srt comes with a piggyback ecu that is really the only difference. I am suspect of there hp gain claims though. Search the forums there is a lot of chatter on this subject. Well I decided to go with the Injen intake. I ordered it today from Lextasy, it should b here in a week. I will let you know how satisfied I am with it once it's installed. How difficult is it to install the Injen air intake? And what's the difference between setting it up as a CAI and a short ram and am I able to choose between the two without any other necessary parts when I get the package?

  7. I want to do a cold air intake on my car. What do you guys suggest? I was thinking about going with the SRT but I'm not sure. I was also looking at the Injen, K&N, Weapon intakes. About how much hp should I expect from the last three?
  8. where did you purchase your side marker lights? Yo that looks sweet, would you know if I can chrome out the grill for a 93 GS300? I bought the side marker lights on Ebay. They don't look as quality as the OEM but I'll see how long they last. I'm not sure if you can do this mod to a 1st gen but you can search on this forum to see if anybody else has done it.
  9. Acurate ? The only way is to dyno before and after. Yea but don't almost all 2nd gen GS3's come with the same horsepower from factory? So I want to know if anybody installed the SRT intake and if they actually had the results SRT claims.
  10. Guys, sorry I took so long to get the pix but I had problems with my computer and cam software
  11. Like I said before, I don't want anything too loud but I also want something that makes pretty good horsepower. I just wanted to see what other people have used and how satisfied they are with gains vs. noise. Some exhausts don't tell you at least an estimate of the power you should gain. If I can gain like 15-20hp over stock that would be good. Seriously, If your looking for those gains you will probably need headers and custom pipes all the way back and you will have to lose the cat, Not to mention a change in the intake dept. Claims of hp gains are 99% exagerated in the exhaust aftermarket world. Yea, I was also thinking about doing an intake upgrade. I wasn't sure if I should go with the SRT intake with ECU upgrade or something else. They claim a gain of 22hp and 24lb/tq. But how accurate is that?
  12. I would assume that's 15,000 miles per year. But I remember when I went to buy my GS about a year ago, they were offering the GS300 (probably bone stock) for $459/month. But of course that's when the car had just come out. At first I was thinking I should have leased one but to be honest I don't like the exterior of the newer GS too much. I prefer the rounder style of the older GS. It's almost unmistakeable. The only car that really resembles 2nd gen GS is the new E-class. The new GS kinda looks like the new TL and Accord twins. Don't get me wrong it's pretty nice looking car but I just prefer the older look. Congrats on the purchase though, I'm not here to hate on anybody, we're all part of the Lexus family.
  13. I got to test out my '01 GS300 this winter in the snow. I have Bridgestone Blizzaks on my car but only on the rear wheels. To be honest I felt like I wasted my money buying those tires. I think I had maybe a little less grip with the all season Michelins that were already on the car. I had a lot of slipping with the rear wheels with snow tires. The snow tires only help in light snow, when it starts piling on you start to get wheelspin. I don't know if maybe putting some weight in your trunk might help. But I'm just glad the winter is almost over so I can put my 20's on my car.

  15. I thought Borla was used mostly in American cars. About how much horsepower gain should I expect and how much noisepower gain should I expect? I really don't want anything too loud just to sound a little deeper than stock.
  16. I have some 20" rims and I was wondering from personal experience what size tire should I buy? I was thinking either 245/35/20 or 255/35/20.
  17. I'm thinking about getting a new exhaust system for my 2001 GS300. I'm just looking to add as much horsepower but I don't want a loud sounding exhaust, just something that sounds a little deeper. Thanks for any suggestions.
  18. How about a connection for a regular mp3 player? I have the Sony NW-E507.
  19. I guess nobody else has a preference.
  20. Just so all of u know the yellow fogs r the same as the clears just with yellow 9006 bulbs. I just upgraded my clears with a yellow 3000k HID kit. I wanted to get an HID kit but the fog lights are so easy to remove I'd rather just get a used set of yellow fogs.
  21. Which fog light do you prefer, the yellow ones or the clear ones? Just type your responses. I'll be the first. I prefer the yellow fogs.
  22. Just remove the plastic guard in the wheel well. If I remember right I went through the wheel well. Just removed acouple of screws and bent it back to get acess. As far as the 194 bulbs for the parking lights, NEO and myself have told you where we got ours at and you can see the pictures of them. Neo's are white with a hint of blue and mine are more of a darker blue than white. Ever though they were called Hyper white. It's easier if you go through the fog light opening. It should take about 5-10 minutes to remove and install each side marker. It'll be more of a hassle to go through the wheel well.
