  1. same over here my 91 ls400 lighters dont work either. cant even charge cellphones or anything!!
  2. what the? sounds complicated. i'll give it a look though. also am i the only one here that has to take out the battery and air filter system just to access the headlights? me any my friend been doing it every since, its not as easy as the book says. the screws for the headlamps to the front end dont look like they want to come out at all.
  3. i know how to do that, i'm talking about the actually mechanics of doing it, i dont see any screws or adjusting knobs at all. there is one but when i screw it it dosent do anything, maybe i'm looking at the wrong ones
  4. i tryed asking before, but does anyone have any idea how to adjust or aim the headlights on a 1991 LS400??? i know theres some screws near the headlights but when i turn it i dont really see anything happening unless i doing it wrong.
  5. heh i got the same problem, mine are very badly worn out, wont even stay up and leak some grease. my guess is a local repair shop might be able to do it for you cheaper, but i never tryed
  6. i checked out tirerack.com, they had some good deals. for the ls400 i found out that kuhmos are pretty good and cheap, but the best i saw was bridgestone turenzas! they got some good ratings there but about $105 each i think. the dunlops werent really high rated, they were alright, but its tread life and harsh ride got it low ratings.
  7. for overspray i think the best thing is a clay bar. clay magic makes good clay bars, mothers clay bars do a decent job from what i heard, but clay magic and other brands are much better.
  8. i would be interested, but not sure if i would buy one anytime soon...also will these be totally different units from the original lexus ones? cause if they arent wont they just black out again after a couple years or so? is it easy enough to replace where you can do it yourself? damn display gets real annoying, cant tell the time or the tempature.
  9. turtle wax is generic to me. i prefer using something like megauris products. they give me good shine for my car. try www.autopia.org they got everything about car care and products, they really know how to keep a car looking nice.
  10. my local sears tireshop reccomended dunlop sp's for my car they look pretty nice, but the yokohamas spec wise looked alot better. it had more handling capability
  11. i had my silverstars in for awhile, they do a decent job. maybe i got to re aim my headlights cause they seem quite low...any one know how to do that?? cause on my car i dont see ANYTHING that has to do with aiming headlights yeah i heard about those mtechs, apprently theyre better then PIAA in japan, i'll give it a try. what kind did you get? i want something that a nice pure white, i dont really want these colored blue ones i seen on hondas and crap. i just bought some blubs off ebay, apprenntly some european lights that produce 4800k which is about the same as HID.
  12. need some new headlights for my 91 LS400, these salvyania silverstars arent doing it for me. i bought some PIAA blubs for my side markers and even though it claimed to be "superwhite" they came out bluish. any sugguestions? need something that will atleast have that blue taint and wont mess up my wattage
  13. i use megauirs #7 show car glaze, followed by their #26 high tech yellow wax. it gives a great shine and i say it last 2-3 months for me. but the best shine i think is from P21S/S100. i like megaruirs products, mothers is alright, egale is just a higher priced turtle wax but its still good. P21S and S100 is the exact samething! and S100 is $10 cheaper than P21S this is the best site ever for car detailing i ever seen, they review alot of products here www.autopia.org
  14. thanks for the info guys i'll be sure to check those tires out. Thanks SRK the color is pretty nice. at first it didnt like it but now i i have i do. the car would be beautiful if it wasant for all those scracthes, key marks, aged paint.
  15. i have a '91 LS400 with the stock chrome wheels P205/65R15. The tread is really worn down now and i need new tires. i currently have yokohama v550's and they were pretty good. Any reccomendations on new tires? i want something that does well in wet & dry conditions, since it never snows here, some sporty handling and maintains a comfortable ride and no road noise. any help would be good thanks!
  16. well i know the 90-94 ls400 has different tails u can get. i seen all clear and all red, but the turn signal part of it is white which is pretty nice. i sugguest looking on ebay
  17. yeah actually the headlight blubs are 9004 and the fog lights are H4's. heh i got a red ls400 too
  18. i dont know how to expalin it, but theres like a pen or something stuck between my glove compartment and pannel? when you open the glovebox theres this crack between the glove and glovebox door. something was stuck in there and i coulnt close it, and ended up pushing the pen or whatever the hell it is in, which droped between that crack. i want get it out of there, anyone know what to do?
  19. H4? i got a 91 ls400 and it takes 9004 blubs
  20. does anyone know how to do it? i got a 91' ls400 and in the book it dosent say anything. all it says is to bring it into the dealer to do it and i'm guessing that its probally going to be an overpriced job. my lights seem quite low to the ground and i cant see that far ahead of me. its not bad to the point of where i can get into and accident, but i think it would be better if i could see more one the road.
  21. i have the same problem. worse of all its the speedometer!! the needle is hald way out, but i cant still make out what speed i am going at sometimes...and when i mean sometimes i mean that my speedometer is also out. its all messed up, when i'm driving it sometimes gives me an inaccurate speed, but most of the time its stuck on one speed. even when i'm at a complete stop it will be at 40mph.
