  1. I read somewhere that supposedly a member challenged Lexus on the 'safety factor' aspect and that the dealer covered parts and labor. I was unable to verify this and agree, that it is highly unlikely a dealer will comp this repair. Best bet is replacement... around $165 per side for the assembly and belt. Check out Park Place in Dallas if you don't have discount supplier for OEM parts. http://www.trademotion.com/partlocator/index.cfm?siteid=213808 Jimmy '95 LS, White/Tan/Chromes 148K
  2. Because you are needing the motor assembly and all, new, ebay, or a parts service for used items is about your only option for restoration to full functionality. As a plan B, you may consider replacing the mast (as described elsewhere on this site) in your origional non-working unit. However, during the installation process, install the mast while extended, rather than collapsed. It will still be inoperable as far as raising and lowering, however, your reception will be good. Just watch-out when you go through a car wash. Best of luck,
  3. Hats off to you guys. Just did a quick coolant level check and found it lacking. Brought it up to proper level and curred the "no heat at idle" blues. Now, in the process of this fix, I discovered error codes 14 and 15 when running the AC diagnostic test. I know that 14 is an open or short in water temperature sensor (though I don't know the effects nor fix). However, I have been unable to determine from any source what error code 15 means. Thanks! -Jimmy
  4. I think the cabin filter is the problem with the air flow and the change will fix that. With respect to intermittent heat, 1) Pull the codes via a diagnostic run described here: http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/air/accodes.html 2) Check engine coolant level; 3) Change the coolant reservoir cap; 3) Check the heater control valve for proper function. You can find further reading ion this issue here elsewhere on this website: http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...mp;hl=heat+idle -Jimmy
