  1. Lexus' are GREAT, but to be honest....if you live somewhere where winter isn't exactly mild...and ur looking for an SUV to be AWESOME in snow, i wouldn't reccomend the Rx :whistles: sure, it's a beautiful SUV, and it is graceful in the snow, but if your that worried about winter time and snow, go for a more allterain based vehicle...such as a jeep cherokee, etc etc. Luxury Suvs with rwd based 4wd: Infiniti Qx4, Bmw X5, X3 etc. I have no regrets with my Rx300 tho. i live in toronto where winter is long and cold. And lots of snow no doubt, but i am confident my rx300 will survive since it DOES have AWD. remember Driver skill > Vehicle Capabilities if you drive a grand cherokee like a sports car in the winter, guess what you'll end up wrapped around a poll! Drive responsibly and with some general knowledge about ur vehicles awd system and other safety related components and you'll be fine in just about any vehicle, FWD, RWD, AWD, etc.
  2. Drove a Buick Park Avenue....very luxurious american car...decided to move up to a car-like SUV. Much nicer interior in the lexus, not to mention, a nice view since you are sitting higher up! Also, since i drive the AWD version, it'll be a lot smoother to drive during the winter months B)
  3. ahh yes i forgot that the rx330 has that tiptronic styled gear selector, which is different from the simplistic rx300 auto gears.
  4. to use fine grit sandpaper i'd imagine? there should be a DIY writeup somewhere on this board
  5. My 02' Rx300 is at 35000km right now...the tranny fluids haven't been changed to my knowledge as of yet. Do you guys reccomend i should change it soon to prevent transmission damage? i don't want my transmission to just die on me when it hits 100 000km:( as i expect to keep this car for a long long time!
  6. heheheh, not at all man, i didn't know where the o/d button was on my vehicle until i read the manual myself. it is actually right on the shiftknob for me....on the side of the handle
  7. if you liek gunning it out of nowhere, turn your overdrive off...i'm assuming that it's ur overdrive that tries to *save gas* by shifting into a higher gear, but when you all of a sudden give it full throttle, it confuses the computer and forces it to downshift so u get the jolt of speed, and thats why u might feel thta little jerk or what u may seem to think is a 'slip'
  8. ^^you can get some pretty decent aftemarket Navigation kits for about $2000
  9. for some reason my stock halogens in the rx are not too yellow at all. in fact the headlight cover has a bluish green tint over it. Looks awesome with the lights off...and still decent with the lights on..my headlights are nowhere as yellow as the headlights for example on my honda civic(also stock halogens) i have a 2002 coach edition by the way without HID. I guess maybe you guys could try finding the 01+ coach edition headlight covers with the coloured film on top! :)
  10. mine has the lines only on the left side window. I don't have a silversport either but im sure it's supposed to be like that. it's odd i've never noticed it before...
  11. Finally, i have access to my home without the damn transmitter :) It worked without a hitch, i programmed all 3 buttons. thanks a bunch jbarhorst2 and the rest of the guys who helped :) cheers
  12. I am going to check it out right and and will report back soon.
  13. there should be a COACH symbol on the side of the headrests as well as a COACH EDITION badge on the lower part of both Driver and passenger side Doors :)
  14. alright i've got a 1/2HP Liftmaster Security + I was unable to locate the training button on the unit. Maybe it is inside the cover where the lightbulb and whatnot are but iw asu nable to take that part off because i didn't have a ladder on hand.
  15. i checked around the garage opener and icouldn't find any training buttons....maybe i hae to take off the cover? i will try today and keep you guys updated :)
  16. oh really? i assumed it would be a button on the wall or something. i haven't actually opened the motor mechanism thing hanging from the ceiling. Is the button inside there? I will definately take a look tomorrow as i have to change the bulb in there anyway. Thanks for the info!
  17. according to my manual it tells me my garage door is one of 'rolling code' and tells me to find the training button....however there is no training button for my home garage door... i'll just have to ask the dealer about it the next time i'm there.
  18. yup, i have never been able to get my homelink to work as well. oh well
  19. yeah, when i purchased my 02'. It came with 3 keys. 2 Master(with buttons) and 1 Valet key.
  20. i got a 3M guard when ipurchased my RX...it was an option with the dealer (about 400 dollars at the time) basically it's like a strip of clear tape that goes over the front of the car...it is practically invisible unless you are right up close u can see a tiny outline. For the people who don't like the look of the bra or rock guards, this is the way to go. Also mine goes over my headlights as well so thats extra protection a bra or rock guard could never deliver.
  21. i also experience this when i was in a dangerous situation and i need to give my rx300 full throttle...the car jerked forward violently(from the downshift) and when i let my foot off the gas after i finished passing the car jerked again(upshifting i presume) haven't tried the cruise control yet...
  22. i did not receive a carry on bag with my coach edition. Just a first aid kit in the rear...but i think that comes with all Rx's.
  23. i love the LPS speakers...i don't know if the nakamichi are any better? how much is it to replace the LPS with an identical set?
  24. ^^yup...theres usually a lot of power put to the wheels in 1st gear when you are starting to move...so by starting in 2nd gear....you move at a lower rpm..this is useful in canadian winters where many other drivers can find themselves spinning in 1st gear at the green light.
