Do not let yourself be swayed away by the fact that the 350 is a RWD only car. I live in the Cleveland area so I bought a 2nd set of wheels for winter. I have Blizzacks ws-60 on and with these tires in snow the 350 handles better than any FWD (equiped with all season tires) car I have ever had. If you do go that route add about $1800 for rims, TPMS, and the Blizzacks. Either way you will enjoy owning an IS.

The rain sensor is in the windshield somehow, thus creating the high price for a new windshield. At least, that's my understanding. You are correct. We had the previous owner replace my wife's ES 350 windshield to the tune of $1,500, of which he paid $250 for his deductible. I was told that the sensor is actually under the rear view mirror mount - not in the windshield... So I looked in the owners manual which has an arrow pointing to the Mirror mount. The sensor measure refraction of infrared light to determine the presence of rain. So is the stealership overcharging for a windshield replacement or does the sensor get damaged when the mirror is removed? Anyone know... Anyone replace their windshield with after market glass and still have the rain sensor work? If so, how much. I only have 1600 miles on my new 350 but I have always had bad luck with windshields so sooner or later the information will help. Thanks.

The warm up period is what impacts me... I start the car and go inside until she is warm... I always drop 3-5 MPG during winter because of this. I never thought that driving had too much impact but IMO Summer sees the use of the A/C which also reduces MPG... Love the spring and fall

If they were to come on for a 1-2 PSI change you would get a lot of "false" alerts in the winter. Assuming you live where there actually is a winter. Subfreezing temperatures can lower a tires PSI and your monitor will go off until friction increases the PSI while driving.

I am currently waiting on a special order for an IS350 with just the luxury package. It is hard to find just the LP without the NAV system. So go back to your dealer and ask him to order you one. I know from personal experience that the wait sucks but in the end you will have exactly what you want.

Thanks Terry - I hope your time line is correct I was guessing 4-6 weeks. So if your right I will be driving by Late May or early June.

This may be a dumb observation since I am not mechanically inclined... But how is the transmission cooled? The last two times I had transmission fluid changes performed they hooked up a machine to the cooling line; sucked out the fluid, then injected the new fluid into the cooling outflow line.

I have a Build date of May 8th for a Smokey Granite Mica - Black leather and Luxury Package 350. So my question is once it is built how long to get it to Ohio? Also, Is there a way to track it's progress? Thanks

Thanks I was planning on 17 inch rims - it's difficult to find snow tires bigger than 17 inches.

I am waiting on my new IS-350 but have started researching an addition set of rims for winter tires. When I search for Lexus IS-350 rims I can only find retailers that have 06 - 07 rims. Does anybody know if these rims will fit the 08? Since I live in the Cleveland area I was thinking about getting the rims ahead of time so I can start having fun whenever the car arrives. Thanks
