Hi, So I just picked up my '06 IS 250 AWD and tried to roll down all of the windows from the driver seat and the only one that worked was the drivers window. So I got out and checked each one individually by pressing each window button on every door and they all worked. So I just can't roll it down from the drivers seat. I checked to see if I had the window locks on or something but I didn't. I don't know if it is just a short in the system or if it is just a simple fix. Thanks in advance for the solution.

The sound system is mind blowing, almost literally. I love the gear shower thingy too! :D its pointless indeed but I just like it I don't know why. And I love the taillights at night too but I like em in the day also, I just like the overall design of them.

Hey Roco, I'm curious it there are any other car makers out there that has a similar list of "awards".... ^_^ Yeah the 3 series has a bunch of awards but most are performance wise. As far as reliability and interior "gadgets" I really don't think there are too many cars with the value of the IS.

My suggestion would be to buy it used. BUT, make sure that it is certified per-owned because then there won't be any doubts on the quality. I got a fantastic deal on my '06 IS 250 AWD by buying it certified pre-owned. Some people like buying new cars and I do too but once you drive the car off the lot.... the car's value drops $2,000 off the original price. Just my two cents, good luck guys! Hope you find a good deal because these are great cars.

Did you test drive it before you bought it?

Wow...simply stunning. If I had any doubts about my IS before I saw this, I think that they are all pretty much cleared up now haha. Thanks for the list Randy!

Wow, that could have been a serious problem had you been driving when that happened, well thank the one above for that. -

ha well seeing as I have niether of those I don't think that would be too fair of a trade B) -
Well it would have been even worse had she not had the keyless system because you wouldn't be able to drive the car without keys but if you have the keyless system you at least know it is in the car because you can start it :D

Navigation Retrofit Possible?
Rocco B. replied to ojefferyo's topic in 07 - 13 Lexus IS250 / IS350 / IS-F
ojefferyo, Welcome to the club bro. There is another forum on this topic you should check it out, they are discussing the exact same thing. There is also another forum discussing putting in an aftermarket Nav, you could check that out too. What ever floats ur boat! ;) -
I think that it is almost funny that they have the keyless on the Corolla now. I know that Toyota and Lexus are the same company but I think they should have left the Keyless for the people who actually know what it does haha. I don't think most Toyota owners even read the manuals(no offense).

Radar Guided Cruise Control

Yes I agree that it is useless if you don't live in an area with winding roads. At turns in the neighborhood like at a stop sign, it is useless but on windy, barren roads that are wooded and dark, it is a prime spot for car wrecks and/or hitting deer, and what ever else is out there and thats why Lexus put this feature on the IS. -
Well I have seen a lot of Forums about bad things/faults of the IS (which isn't a bad thing because this is a place to do that) but i figured why the heck not say what we like best! So here is my list: Keyless Entry System Paddle Shifters (this one can go either way, hate it or love it) Bluetooth Ventilated seats Voice Commands iPod/AUX input (although it could use some work with the interface)

Radar Guided Cruise Control

Ok well I can see how they would work but where I live they just don't come in handy at all especially on the SC 430 because that car never sees the snow anyway so there is no salt to get on the headlights. The AFS is a fantastic feature! not even just for animals but for cars and kids too! haha. Where I live there are constantly people parking on both sides of the street and in the stupidest places like around a bend! Also, the backup camera is a great feature because I was pulling out of my drive one day and next thing I know there is a car parked right outside my drive! They blocked me in :chairshot: and I wouldn't have even seen it because I was tired and it was dark because it was 5 A.M. -
Yes, the low profile tires are sensitive to damage and they are bad in the snow which is probably not so good for someone that lives in Canada like yourself but at least you have AWD. The reason that the tires are so sensitive is that... think of your tire as like another shock to your suspension, a "high profile" tire will absorb much more shock than a low profile so if you hit something like well, a pothole, then they will suffer. The reason that Lexus put these on our cars is because they will make the car handle much better because they are like having a stiffer suspension, and they increase the feel you get of the road from behind the wheel. I agree with BillyShaft the tire warranty is probably the best way to go especially for someone who again lives in Canada where the salt just eats the road and creates potholes like it does there.

Radar Guided Cruise Control

haha yeah my dad has an SC with those headlamp washers, i can kind of see the point in them but it is really a useless feature. At least Lexus didn't do what Volvo did and actually put headlamp washer blades on the headlamps because now it looks ridiculous and it is pointless. But I agree radar guided cruise control is a great feature, and I wish they would have put it on more IS's. It is amazing how far the technology in these cars has come though. -
Radar Guided Cruise Control

Thank ya very much! :) -
Hey guys (and girls) I just bought an '06 Lexus IS 250 AWD and (I feel stupid saying this) but I do not know if it has the Radar guided cruise control. Is there anyway I can easily find out if my car has it or not? I would "test it out" and just set the cruise and see if it slows down as I approach the car/object in front of me but I don't know how far away I have to be before it would slow down, and if my car does slow down then well, there goes my IS 250 haha. Does anyone know of a way to find out whether or not my car has it without going to a dealer or anything? Thanks in advance.

Interesting idea but I don't think that it is any less expensive or any easier than installing a vinyl. If you do make it to dark, how would you go about removing it with out damaging the taillight itself? Emm.. a can of clear black spray the one i found its only $ 1.99 or maybe less I only see these type of paints in small bottle, but its enough for 4 and up cars just ask around to see if any of ur fds that they're interested than u probably don't even need to pay a penny or maybe start a little side job And every home most likely to have a can of clear finishing spray paint in their storage or garage even if u don't, this kind of paint is the cheapest kind & it mostly come in normal size spray can which u can still do so much with it around your home, car, paintings..etc And most of the cars that i see on the street with the vinyl, its mostly way too dark ! No matter if its only during the day time and some even at night... thats dangerous ! it makes the drivers behind very hard to see if ur braking, signaling or reversing Im not saying all vinyl is like that, it looks really good ! but u just have to throw ur $ in the pond for awhile for u to search ur-self a good one Worry about if u made it TOO DARK ? Good question.." Take ur TIME ", check how it turn-out each layer of coat u only need a flash light to exam, but remember to check it under the sun & in the dark Worry about REMOVING it ? Good question..." It's only Paint ", buy any paint remover will do and if your worry about using the paint remover onto a Plastic surface will fog up ur lights, Use White Spirit (this is not an advertising or a brand name, its a name for a type of paint remover, its stronger) just damp it onto a towel or .. and gently rub it off thats about it, hope this help Thanks a lot. I'll definitely look into painting them now instead because I agree the vinyl is dangerously dark. Thanks again :D :D

hahahaha just don't even stop, if ur kids have to go to the bathroom, bring some bottles n' just throw the bottles in the back seat when ur kids r done with em'!

Yeah I tried doing that and I think one of the best ones I heard was the HKS but I also might go with the F-Sport exhaust simply because it is Lexus, then again I don't really want to spend that kind of money. But I was wondering if anyone else had some ideas that hadn't posted a Youtube video.
