  1. Second, It's great to have all sorts of people talk about their automotive experiences. I enjoy reading them when I can. MY point is that the text is OK, but too many pix fills up the server this site is managed from - I think 1 pic would have been cool. Do you agree?

If I can just address this.

    WE LOVE PICS!!

we dont really impose a limit on the number of pics (although keeping them of a reasonable size is nice).

To be honest, inlining images from another domain costs us a few bytes in database storage and zero in bandwidth - no issues at all.

Personally - I love to see pictures of peoples' cars - and I enjoy sharing pictures of my own. I'm looking forward to pics of razahyde's new car.

  2. Then ask Lexus direct.

This is the email I got from Sylvia Marino, a director of edmonds.com

    WHEN: Thursday - September 29, 2005 9pm ET/6pm PT

    WHERE: http://www.edmunds.com/townhall/chat/lexusischat092905.html

No registration is required, no personal information will be asked. Simply click on the "Chat Now" link on the page and type in a temporary name for the chat, that's it. Submit questions during the chat to Mr. Carter and enjoy the company of fellow enthusiasts for this one-hour event.

  3. This forum is dedicated to trying to aid Lexus Owners Club members with any warranty questions.

We have a full time Warranty Portal available to all members, with a raft of articles that explain all aspects of warranties.

We have also partnered with Warranty Direct to supply high quality warranties to all of our members who want the piece of mind that a top notch warranty will provice.

As a result of this partnership, Jeff Petrone (Jeffp@warrantydirect.com) will be a dedicated LOC Warranty Adviser from Warranty Direct, and will try to help all members with any warranty issues and questions.

I am sure everyone will welcome Jeff to the LOC Team.

  4. Do people like the present format (300, 330 sparated from 400h) better than the previously combined format ? Last I cared to check, there was dismally little activity on either subforum.

its irrelevant what people like now.

there was a poll of the membership as to which way people wanted to see the forum structured.

the consensus was to put the Hybrid people in a forum of their own.

    so - thats what happened.

this is no longer even a subject for debate

  5. I have been contacted by Lexus, who would like to invite Lexus Owners Club members to an exclusive early evaluation of the 2006 Lexus IS.

Anyway, we now have two unusual opportunities coming up this month for a total of up to seven US-based Lexus Owners Club members at two special events.  Each one will feature a comprehensive technical presentation on the new IS by one of our Lexus College staff, plus a two or two and a half hour ride & drive on public roads.  We'll also supply complete press kits with specifications, features, press releases, technical illustrations and great photos of the new IS that all members can enjoy.

The first event will be held this Friday, Aug. 12(!) starting at 9:00 a.m.

at the Doubletree Hotel in Irvine, California.  We'll start at 9:00 a.m.

with the tech. presentation followed by a Q & A session.  A new IS 350 and IS 250 will be at your disposal for a local drive immediately after.

Although I realize this is almost impossibly tight timing, we're hoping that you could designate one suitable club member (probably in California) that would attend and then post their impressions in a visible place on the Lexus Owners Club forum.

Here's a link for more hotel information:

    http://www.doubletree.com/en/dt/hotels/ind...ctyhocn=ONAISDT

The second event will be held on Wednesday, Aug. 31 starting at 4:00 p.m.

at The Castle on the Hudson hotel in Tarrytown, NY (about 30 minutes from Manhattan).  We'll follow the same format as in Irvine, this time starting at 4:00 p.m. with the tech. presentation and completing the ride & drive at about 7:00 or 7:30.  With this event, you're welcome to invite six members to attend.  But I must ask you to choose responsible people that will take care of the precious cars for the next event which immediately follows this one.  Also, like the Irvine event, I would ask that these people share their impressions on the club forum.

Here is a link to the hotel site for more information:

I sincerely hope that the Lexus Owners Club will join us for this early look at the new IS.  The cars won't go on sale until October, so this is a rare opportunity to get a jump on the rest of the world and is just one way of saying thank you for your on-going interest in Lexus products.

If you are interested in attending this very exlcusive event you must EMAIL me as quickly as possible.

In the event of more than seven people wanting to attend these events, preference will be given to our gold members.

  6. how come on the two pictures the gear display is ont opposite sides??? rnt they the same cars..? (chuck's and matthews)

I am in Britland mate - so mine is RHD, and the displays are the other way around! :D

his seat belt wasnt even on! and he was low on gas lol

well - if you are gonna go dangerously fast - may as well go the whole hog and do it with no seatbelt!:lol:

and being low on gas is a permanent feature of the car - I dont think that light goes off :blushing:

  7. I have no idea how realistic the drawing is - but there are some strong visual references to the new shape IS and GS models.

The drawing does fit in with Lexus's L-Finesse style - the lines down the bonnet, grill and headlights.

I like it - which is probably not a good thing.

Its too "sporty" looking for an LS, with the lips and side skirts.

And those huge rims and very low profile tyres make look great - but they will have to linked with a fabulous suspension setup to provide the trademark Lexus LS smooth ride
