  1. OK, I did not consider the hot Southern climate. I guess that would be handy when it is 120 degrees inside your parked car.
  2. I don't know if the first gen cars have this, but my 95 will allow you to either roll the drivers door window up or down from the outside with the ign key. When it rolls down when I unlock it, I have to run it back up. But fortunatly it only does it once in awhile, and is not really a pain in the rear. Living in Oregon does not allow for many drives with the window down. Just wondering, does anybody really use this feature??
  3. Let us know if you find the answer. My 95 has the same problem as yours, everything looks fine but they do not work.
  4. Only have had this car for six months so this is the best picture so far.
  5. If you can find a welding shop in your area that is familiar with using a welding technic to remove the broken stud. It is possible to build up the broken stud with a welding rod, then weld a nut to the build up portion of the stud, then remove it with a wrench. The heating process of welding will usually free up a frozen/broken stud like you have. Make sure the person that says he can do it CAN really do it. Don’t let some Billy-Bob screw up your cylinder head. This can be done, I have personally done it and so have many other competent welders.
  6. I would say if you have the time for the car to be down, you could remove the bearing and the seal and take them to a bearing supply, or a mill supply business. They should be able to match the seal too. $110 for this size bearing is out of line. I bought a lot of bearings when I worked in a paper mill, and I would guess it should be more like $30.
  7. Love your black cars, I have two myself. I tell people that say they are hard to keep clean, "they are not for unmotivated people". PS: I like the picture of the Miata best!
  8. I would think that thoes of you that replaced the plastic one with metal, if you would coat it with Line-X like they spray into pickup beds it would go a long ways for wear and sound deading. I think the sheild goes a long way to help your engine look like this. But that's only me, I want everything to look good, even where you can not see it. By the way, I have fixed the rear engine compartment seal since the picture was taken.
  9. The Lexus first aid kit #00217-50930. Let me know if you need one. :) Thanks for the reply's. Twin Turbo could you pm me the price and details or pictures of the kit.
  10. Can any of you guys give me any tips or leads on finding the factory first aid kit that fits in the rectangle hole in the front of the lower drivers seat. E-bay only shows generic Lexus kits that you throw in the trunk. This is a 1995 LS 400 that has every option on it, but the first aid kit is missing. The car is in very good shape for its year and mileage (123.000 mi.) and getting the original first aid kit would make my day. Thanks in advance. (Please be kind, it's my first post) :) 9KLpl
