  1. I'd say do a search for "Pioneer AVIC" but that will probably get you nowhere since the search feature has been changed... http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...showtopic=38645
  2. Did you see the thread a couple of posts down from this one about installing one on a '00? It's still on the first page.
  3. Installed the radio Saturday morning. Once I found the attached instructions for getting the dash opened up I was all set. The radio went in easily, the only issue was dealing with the background noise. The RCA connection to the factory amp was providing a solid enough ground for the radio to actually stay powered on when the primary ground was disconnected :o . The RCA ground loop isolators had their input/output connections inverted to the way the Pioneer was set up, but they seem to work just fine when installed opposite to their I/O markings. Once those were in, background noise was gone and the unit works great. Mounted the antenna to the front drivers side of the dash just under the glass, the mic to the steering column, and the iPod/USB connectors ran through the trans tunnel into the base of the center console. The Avic-F90BT seems to be a good fit for the ES300. Great audio quality, GPS works fine, love the integration with the cell phone, and the ability to play MP3's from a DVD, SD card, USB, or iPod was huge for me. There is room for improvement on the interface, but I suspect that could be said about any of the units on the market. Now that the price has started dropping (I was out the door for less than $515 shipped) it's a good value for what it gives you. Car_Tech_Docs.zip
  4. I know you asked a while ago, but I just found the file here: http://wiilabs.com/Car Tech Docs.zip
  5. Thanks for that. I'm going to try to install it either Friday or Saturday night. The car's a few hours away right now (she's out of the country until Saturday night) so I'm going to have to pack any tools with me to install it. Aside from the typical electrical tools and a set of screwdrivers, do you remember what else you needed? I'm going to pack up a set of metric sockets. Any torx bits, etc that I should know about?
  6. Thanks for taking the time to write this up. I just ordered a Pioneer AVIC-F90BT last night for my wife's 2000 ES300. Do you still recommend all the same noise filters as you used? I'm in the middle of picking out all the extraneous pieces right now like the dash kit and amp bypass and need to make selections on those. Thanks!
  7. Do any of the aftermarket changers fit in the same location as the original? If not, do the parts exist to eliminate all the brackets for the original and make the glove box appear that it wasn't there? I'm not sure if was possible to get a '00 without the changer installed.
  8. My wife's 00 ES300 has the glove box mounted factory CD changer. However, it's starting to act up (detects discs at random) and does not support digital music files. Are there any aftermarket changers (pretty sure the factory unit is a Pioneer?) that both mount in the same location and connect to the factory head unit? Ideally I'd like it to support MP3 files, but if the head unit won't control one that will, I'd still like to just get her a working changer. I know most of the world is moving from changers to portable music devices, but she regularly gets audiobooks from the library and that requires being able to load multiple discs at a time.
  9. http://us.lexusownersclub.com/forums/index...?showtopic=3584 If you don't notice anything that bothers you, then don't give it another thought.
  10. What is your actual fuel mileage? Mileage per tank is USELESS information. What matters is how much fuel you're having to put in to refuel compared with mileage driven - an actual quantifiable number. Check that and see where you are...
  11. Have you driven it thoroughly to check for the transmission issues that were present in 02-05?
  12. I'd be discussing this with the shop that did the work immediately. If the pawl isn't securing the transmission in place, that's a serious safety hazard. You shouldn't need to fix this yourself.
  13. I'm not the OP, and actually have a working master. I'd just like to save the $15 if possible. Separate question... If I just bought a key with the remote frame but not the remote components from that company, does anybody have the accurate instructions for reprogramming the keyless portion from another key (e.g. if I grabbed a used key from eBay to rob the remote portion from)?
  14. Just bought my wife a '00 ES300 for $11,800 yesterday with 88k. Beautiful car and looking forward to many dependable miles. It's a huge step up from the '95 Sable she'd been driving with 173k.
  15. The site indicates that you can save the $15 for cutting from the VIN if you can provide the key code. Do you know where this is marked?
