  1. Sorry Norcal here. I do see a bunch of new ES350's on the road here, but not many Ultra-luxury packages... which makes mine feel much more special.
  2. I have one and I'm very happy with it. Completely invisible from 4 feet away. The dealer sublet it to another company that put it on, but I somehow got the dealer to package it in the deal so I got it for free.
  3. There's an update to the article... apparently this story applies to UK only. Scions have been able to do it because they use Pioneer as their Head Unit of choice. Too bad, They should just start making cars with these. USA Spec is supposed to coming out with one this fall specifically for Lexus' with navi's
  4. LoL...it's on youtube There's got to be some friend of a friend who works on Lexus cars that knows the override. Do you think there's an actual service manual that has this in it? I know that's how the others got leaked.
  5. I felt the same way with many of your obsevations. If you want to drive for the sake of driving, by all means get the "Ultimate Driving Machine." The best car I've ever driven was my friends 5-series. Went 110mph on the PCH US HWY1 and it felt like I was driving on rails. That being said, the most comfortable car I've ever driven and ridden in was my ES350. This turned me around. I realized for work I was required to drive 80 miles a day and I'm on my feet the whole time I'm at work. So the stiff seats and the tight steering wasn't really a relaxing thing to drive home in. SO when I drive my Lex home I feel like i'm in my Lazyboy in the living room. The thing practically drives itself. I've never been fond of Bimmer interiors. By the way, other cars I test drove were the 3-series and 5 series, Audi A4 and A6, Benz c-class, Volvo S40 and S60, Acura TL (very nice car as well), Infinity G35 (also very nice balance), and Lex GS series. You have to understand that this was going to be my first luxury vehicle so I had to start right, and I think I did. I think the car chose me as I was not planning to purchase it that day, but well into next year.
  6. Seriously, I've done this twice, once at a Chevy dealership in Indiana, then again at a VW dealership in Cali. This is assuming you have great credit. Even after you get the rate from the bank do a Lending tree inquiry. You'll get crazy stupid offers to buy off your loan, and in that final year when you only have a few thousand to go apply for a new credit card that says 0% for 1 year or when balance is paid off. I'm telling you, I've saved thousands this way. Funny I didn't do that with the Lex this time around.
  7. Just do the financing with the dealer and pay it off with the bank loan, Pain in the rear, but not really. Just make sure there's no prepayment penalty.
  8. Yupz, ran my own tests as well. Month #1 was all 91, Month #2 was 87 octane. Difference was about 0.2 mpg. I think these VVT-i engines are just very efficient. For some reason I can't bring myself to consistantly use the 87 octane. Hey, it's a Lex, I gotta use the 91 just to look cool I guess (or feel cool).

  10. Lexus maintenance is not expensive. If you get a warranty get it from the dealership. If this is the only thing the dealer is offering try to negotiate them down to half the price and then take it. I negotiated my extended warranty to half off the price so you should be able to as well.
  11. I have the answer for all of you. Both are correct, but it has to do with the lumbar position. If the lumbar is fully extended you will not feel the air coming out of the back. If you set the lumbar for no support you will definitely fell the air flow. Yes, they are not air conditioned seats, but ventilated, where a fan underneath the cushioning pushes air through the perforated leather. My dealership here in Roseville actually had a display showing this feature. You will feel the difference if the lumbar support is on max support or on no support.
  12. No, its against federal law for a screen to be displaying video in the driver's line of sight. Hello, New here, I can not even get it to play any DVD inside my garage? What am I doing wrong? Sure would like to get the nav to work while in motion. My better half can navigate the buttons. How can I make this happen? Thanks Woor Set the parking brake! If someone wants to fork over the money, do a google search for "lexus lockpick" although I don't recommend it.
