  1. Who know's, they'll probably think up an excuse. Agreed that the brakes are pretty grabby but i've found that they've smoothed out a bit after about 10-11,000km's. Does either of your front seats squeak? The drivers seat in our IS squeaks when going round corners and is most annoying.
  2. Downshifting while going downhill without cruise control is a bit odd. However, downshifting in cruise control to maintain speed is normal as the box is designed to shift down to provide engine braking (that's why now many BMW's have auto braking cruise control and many other car makers have the laser guided cruise control). Slightly rough between gears but that's acceptable considering the cars weight, power output and 'only' 5 speed box. Other than that it's all good here at my end.
  3. Hmm, good news that i'm not alone! Keep me/us informed, 5 weeks seems quite a while you may need to chase them up.
  4. I see, well if that's the case i guess on first service we'll just have to complain and see what they can do. Thanks for the heads up.
  5. As the topic says, which countries do they apply to? I'm interested in - http://is350.grantham-international.com/ts...eak%20Noise.pdf As the drivers seat when cornering makes a squeak sound which can get irritating depending on how much cornering one does. Now this seems to be the fix however i read in one of the sulfur odour TSIB's that it states some information on Californian fuel however i'm from Australia, Sydney and wonder if these TSIB's still apply (i'm only interested in the seat squeak, the sulfur odour was just an example of the use of "California" - Seemed quite specific to it's location). 6. Have you tried reducing the sensitivity?
  7. I can now confirm (after our loaner) that the BASE SOUND SYSTEM SOUND LEVALIZER makes minimal to no difference despite seeing the "ASL" bars moving up and down. Impressions - For a 'standard' sound system it sounds great. If you ask me, the difference between the ML and the base isn't so great to the extent that it should be a buying point. Base system is a lot more bassy (boomy) and lacks the clarity of the ML. The ML is also better at producing mid-range base, much sharper and clearer not just a big spitting sound.
  8. This is really interesting how you guys have to "special order". Here in AU, IS250 (Prestige) base model with Options Pack 2 which includes.... "Power moonroof, DVD Satellite Navigation with DVD player, bluetooth capability, reversing monitor camera, premium Mark Levinson 14 speaker audio unit". We got ours in.... 4 days. Same without our RX, test drive 1 Week. Order the next week. By the third week we had our RX330 Sports Luxury (Fully kitted model). But back on topic it seems people with ML, the ASL works a lot better. I don't really have anything to compare it with but maybe this Friday when I get the RX serviced i'll probably receive a IS250 loaner without ML.
  9. Has anyone noticed that the position of the light isn't the best? For eg. i keep a box in the boot to put all the loose things into (a torch and what not) and when you open the flip-lid it blocks the light! How silly is that. Basically anything that's tall will block the light quite easily. The more logical place (to me) would be to place it behind the rear-tail lights. Maybe even on on each side.
  10. I think Tex is right, i've noticed it too but i'm pretty sure it only occurs when the turning signal is turned on. Just to confirm any confusion, this clicking is quite discreet and happens maybe once every half revolution or so of the steering wheel. Funny that you mention this actually because only just the other day for some unknown reason the clicking was actually beginning to annoy me (a lot).
  11. So it would seem that the ASL on the standard system either makes little difference or no difference at all? This is odd actually because i can't see why it WOULDN'T work other than someone telling a white lie or maybe something isn't hooked up properly. I wonder if this is a problem not just restricted to the ISx50? Although off the top of my head i think all other current Lexus' come with ML even though the system will vary it's still ML. Just to confirm, the sound is adjusted according to vehicle speed (not by interior sound).
  12. Could this have something to do with the standard sound system? ASL isn't supposed to do much, it adjusts with the speed of the car (some other cars actually have microphones placed around the car that measure the level of sound and adjust accordingly). It DOES make a difference but to the extent you probably won't notice it. While it is subtle, it does help, but because the ISx50's are so quiet inside it isn't AS necessary. My previous 318i had ASL (although it went by a different name) and you could actually hear it increase 1 or 2 units of volume as the car got faster. Our RX330 Sports Luxury (ML, Nav. package basically) has a little range of bars like reception bars on your mobile that would move and down according to how much the ASL is kicking in. It DOES make a difference because after having a hire-car (Nissan X-Trail) WITHOUT the ASL, there's a continous annoyance with having to lean over and adjust the knob all the time (going slow it's too loud, going fast it's too quiet, going slow it's too loud, going fast it's too quiet.... etc.).
  13. I See, interesting, when i asked about our RX the lady said no... Maybe i'll send an email their way and see what they say although i have a funny feeling we don't have it (or at least AU Lexus aren't willing to do it) as in Australia we're generally quite deprived of the models and features most other countries get (like our RX330 Sports Luxury [which is the top of the line model with everything] doesn't have the laser cruise control, heated seats or air suspension, of which none are an option). There's no ES330 or ES350 here. No IS350 here either. We have manual IS250 in 2 models, but no AWD. No GX here. Although what interests me is what you get in your base model IS250 which is what we have but with 1 of the 2 options packs. Here it's the IS250 Prestige, IS250 Sports, IS250 Sports Luxury in order from low to high. The IS250 Prestige has 2 option packs. Option pack 1 = Sunroof. Option pack 2 = ML, Nav., Sunroof , Bluetooth and Reverse Camera. IS250 Sports has 1 option pack. Option pack 1 = ML, Nav., Bluetooth and Reverse Camera. (Sports model already has sunroof). IS250 Sports Luxury has everything. Standards throughout our whole IS250 range, heated/cooled seats, perforated leather seats (although they just call it leather seats here, and the Alcantra suede in the Sports), electric seats (no memory function), electric folding mirrors, 13 speakers, dual climate control, automatic recycle air (i noticed some overseas IS250's don't have this). Prestige = 16" alloy's and the list of standards + plastic interior. Sports = 18" alloy's, the list of standards + sunroof + lowered suspension + Xenon's/HID's w/ Adapt. + "Sporty" plastic interior + rear & front parking sensors. Sports Luxury = 17" wheels, list of standards + Nav., ML, electric seats with memory function, electric steering column with memory function, electric folding mirrors with memory function, laser cruise control, Lexus Pre-collision sensor, Xenon's/HID's w/ Adapt., electric rear sunshade, wood interior, sunroof, rear & front parking sensors.
  14. Hey all, I've seen the list of personalization settings that your people with LHD ISx50's get when you receive the car. Over here in AU (I think the USA LOC get's more attention that the AU LOC) we don't get that but i've seen that some of those options can be performed by yourself. My question is whether the 'auto lock doors when going above 13mph' works in a right hand drive, automatic IS250 (or a RHD, automatic, RX330)? If so are there any directions on how to do it, otherwise i'll head to my dealer, SHOULD it work. Had this in the BMW we had and would be really nifty to have with all the current car jackings we have in Australia. Just one step more convenient than hitting the lock button. PS. Do you LHDer's get electric folding exterior mirrors? I hear you don't.
