  1. thank god! i was wanting so much to not have to locate something unknown sucking too much energy from the battery. i havent driven it in a long time because the power steering pump needs replaced, ive been trying to sell my teg (which is now sold :D), and i had another spare car ive been driving. thank you all for your help.

  2. btw, if youre concerned about how tall the tires will be (speedometer correctness) you can use the following formula to determine the height of the tires:

width x aspect ratio = section height x 2 = combined section height + wheel diameter = tire diameter

    heres a stock example:

    225 x .55 = 123.75 x 2 = 247.5 + 400 = 647.5mm

  3. Then on top of that the mr2 has 200 ft-lbs of torque at 3200 rpm where as the lexus has 260 ft-lbs but at 4400 rpm so once again the mr2 has an advantage because the torque is helping it get up and go earlier in the rev range.

but what does the torque curve look like? the torque curves of turboed and na/eaton-roots supercharged cars are noticeably different.

  4. why hasnt anybody thought of this yet? im thinking mostly of the plastic parts for like the 3rd gen bfi. just eliminate the difficult stuff and do the airbox modification yourself. hell, id be willing to pay some to get rid of some stress out of it.

  5. Actually, the MR2 was definitely supposed to take out your car. Somethings wrong here.

Your car weighs, what 3200 after your weight reduction? The MR2 weighs 2825lbs and is a mid-engine/RWD. Better power to weight ratio'd, compared to the 92 SC400. Somethings wrong. The MR2 should have beat your car hands down.

    assuming stock hp numbers:

    250/3200=0.078125

    200/2825=0.070796

ummm... the sc has the power:weight advantage. lol, you owned yourself on that one :P.

  6. Have you ever hit the speed limiter? in mine, the car jerks like it hit a brick wall and you come off boost regardless so once the fuel cut hits, youre going to lose boost anyways.

whats the speed limiter on the sc4? somewhere between 100 and 110 if im correct. with the somewhat high geared tranny on the sc4 + its cd + its power, hitting that speed limiter should be VERY noticeable and potentially dangerous at speeds that high.

  7. if you just need shocks then just go and get some tokico blues for like $220. if the only thing bad is the shocks and your concerned about money, then just replace the shocks. if youre wanting to lower the car, throw on some eibachs with the tokicos. id only get teins if i were autocrossing.

  8. Rims are costing 500 dont want the tires to cost more than that. I dont know im confused :(

here are some of your tire set choices:

    245/40 sumitomo htr z: $384

    245/40 yokohama avs es100: $448

    255/40 kumho ecsta 711: $300

    255/40 yokohama avs es100: $476

    265/40 kumho ecsta supra 712: $452

    275/40 kumho ecsta supra 712: $440

    275/40 sumitomo htr z ii: $476

these are just a small sample of whats available. the general rule of wheel to tire sizes is:

    17x8: 245-275

    17x9: 255-295

    17x10: 295-315

the only problem is that i forget how the second number factors in.

  9. quicker spool up could mean "stay on longer" meaning boost comes on earlier

you saying that he probably swapped out the stock turbo for a ceramic ball-bearing turbo? if he did that, then he would probably say that instead of "stay on boost longer". whoever this kid is, tell him hes a dumbass for me :P.
