  1. Ok, its time..........The car will be going up for sale in the next week or so after some detailing. If anyone here is interested or if you know of anyone who is, email me at glolas@comcast.net Thanks
  2. I'll be putting my 92 SC 400 with 142K miles up for sale in the next week or so. :cries: I'm figuring $7000 for it.
  3. How difficult is this to replace? Looks like the door panel would need to come off and the whole assembly replaced. (This is an assumption after looking at a Toyota prodcut) Any help, guidance, input would be very much appreciated. :cries:
  4. Thanks, That's kind of what I figured. If anyone is interested in the car, shoot me an email at glolas@comcast.net I'm in Norhtern CA
  5. Well trying to maintian and insure the SC and the LS has gotten a little out of hand, so unfortunately the SC400 is going to have to go. Really don't know how to price it.......Its a 92 SC400 with 141K on it. Runs great and has had all the maintenance including the timing belt done. I even have some of the records still. Car is loaded with every available option for 92. It is dark blue with a tan interior. Body and paint are good to excellent. Leather interior is showing some typical sun related wear. What is this thing worth? $7000? more? less? I'm in Norhtern CA.
  6. The passenger side interior door handle on my 92 SC400 snapped off the other day. Where can I look to find one?
  7. I suspect that there is some air in my system as the brake pedal is pretty soft. Brakes work great but the pedal seems soft and goes a little to low for my taste. Of course I'm comparing it to my SC400 which may not be a good thing to do. The previous owner had the master cylinder replaced about two or three months before I bought the car. However, it was done by a Pontiac dealer????? :whistles: :o (I guess the service manager was a friend of his) So I was wondering if they screwed up.
  8. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
  9. Is there any special procedure in bleeding the brakes on a 95 LS400? Anything unusual that I need to be aware of before I attempt it? Thanks
  10. Not trying to hi-jack the thread, but I just bought a 95 LS. My first LS and I have a question about the brake pedal. Keep in mind that I have only had a couple of SC's before this. The LS pedal feels a softer than the SC. Kind of feels like a low pedal, almost like it has too much freeplay. Is this normal or do I have a bad master cylinder? OR could it be something else?
  11. If you have to have a manual tranny then you will have to get an SC300. The 400's all came with automatics.
  12. Haven't had a chance to do anything to the car yet but it has stalled a couple more times since the first episode. I have a lso noticed that the idle RPM can sometimes be eratic. Would a faulty throttle position sensor cause a problem like this?
  13. Plesae tell me more about this ECU. Where is it? what does it do? How to test it or replace it? Thanks.
  14. My 92 SC 400 just stalled yesterday at a stop light. It actually sputtered and then died. Fired right up and hasn't happened again....YET. I thought bad gas or fuel filter but I'm very interested in hearing more about this fuel pump ECU issue.......
  15. The wife was driving the SC yesterday and it started acting up on her. She said that it cranked a little longer than usual to fire up in the morning but then ran fine most of the day. Later in the afternoon, it sputtered and stalled at a stop light. She put it park and fired it right up with no problem. It did not act up again. I took it out last night and tried to duplicate the problem but got nothing. It ran great. Any ideas as to what it might be? I'm thinking bad gas, or a fuel filter that is clogging up? Car is bone stock except for a K&N filter in the original air box.
  16. Well, I did find that the 20 amp fuse in the under hood box was blown. I replaced it and the stereo worked for a little while even though it had bad reception and the cassette portion did not work at all. I was about to try the CD chnager when the fuse blew again. Keep the ideas coming.
  17. Please forgive the stupid question, but I'm new to these awsome cars. I have a 92 SC400 that i am trying to get aquanted with. Which if the two radiator hoses is the return line back to the radiator? The upper or lower hose that comes up to what appears to be a thermostat housing?
  18. Checked the fuses this weekend and they were good. So what do I look for next. Again, any and all input would be greatly appreciated.
  19. Hi I'm a newbie and I own a 92 SC400 which has just lost its stereo. It won't do anything. It's completely dead. Any ideas of what to look for?
